Planet rationalization must be a really dangerous place if this is how the "normal kids" act. What happens when they act out?!

Failure to discipline teen youth by Dads, Moms, Grandparents, Police etc greatly increases the odds of long term incarceration as an adult.

Intergenerational trauma greatly compromises parenting. Plus financial instability does as well. I also think the internet has a huge role in creating big groups of kids acting rowdy. Availability of guns. And finally, lack of perceived options/consequences. If you don't have a good career and job to look forward to you, showing that you're cool and tough by being the ringleader is salient in the moment.

That said ... whenever you see these videos, please note that there are always a BUNCH of kids who GTFO when things start getting violent. They know it's wrong. So it's a small group of really troubled kids. Not all kids.

They need to charge a fee for Zoo Lights. Those who cannot afford it could apply on line 2 weeks beforehand for a number of free tickets.

Why would you assume that kids GTFO because they know it’s wrong? I would assume it’s because they know that law enforcement is going to show up and they don’t want to get caught. They’re smarter than the instigators but not morally superior.

Well, I can assume that you're not morally superior, so there's that.

BTW I'm not sure that "moral superiority" is really an operative concept here. Generally the goal is for kids and teens to follow the rules. Not stealing because you don't want to get caught is good enough in my book for kids & teens.

Let's start at the beginning. Lack of dads in the homes greatly increases the odds of long term incarceration as an adult.

Committing crime also increases the odds of incarceration. Why not simply obey the law?

They save their outrage for Mormon Boy Scouts.

American society could use more Mormon Boy Scouts, honestly.

Sure, but when that proverbial ship has sailed, what then?

No kid is going to order tickets in advance or pay for zoolights. By not having any requirements for admission, the zoo staff is inviting behavior as disgusting as the gorillas who toss feces at each other.

My kids would order tickets in advance. Then again, they would not loot nearby stores or shoot someone on the street.

You could always jump the turnstile or gate. No one is going to lock you up for that.

You’re an idiot.
You do know ZooLights is from November 29th to January 1st.
What disgusting behavior happened Friday night? How about Saturday night? Last night?

They should just charge for ZooLights on Thanksgiving weekend. Kids were off of school for a bunch of time and needed something to do - that's why ZooLights had this craziness this year. It was a bunch of kids who had been off school for a few days, spending a bunch of time cooped up with parents/relatives, and then decided to meet up via social media.

Don't let anyone under 18 without their parents on the opening weekend OR require reservation of tickets. Just make the barrier to entry higher on Thanksgiving weekend. It calms down on the rest of the weekends in December.

So why wasn’t there craziness last year? What about 2017? Were kids not off school for a bunch of time? Were they not cooped up with parents/relatives and needing something to do for Thanksgiving weekend in 2016 or 2015? Last incident of violence at ZooLights was 2014 and before that 2000. If kids have time off for Thanksgiving every year why is the craziness at ZooLights not annual and only occurring only once or twice a decade?

And that's why the left despises them so much.
