This is very suprising. I've known a couple of kids who were excellent students & NMSFs who were not accepted. I'm guessing the senior you are referring to had some kind of major "hook" that you are unaware of.

Not too surprising in my experience with Davidson. They consider test scores last for admissions, for example.

Neighbors DC, graduate of Davidson, just got accepted to medical school. DC gets to do what DC wants. Cost the parents a bundle of $$$, however. Be wary.

Challenge accepted! I'm the PP who was poking fun at you. My DC goes to Davidson. So, I don't mind if the the thread goes to 21 pages. To me, the most ridiculous posts are not yours, but the people who simply answer yes or no. Then again, the original question didn't exactly invite instructive responses.
