What does that have to do with rich Arabs investing in America? They're a net negative for everyday Americans.

They buy the treasuries that allow all the various functions of government spending to be funded at low interest rates.

Now La Guardia is closed because a plane crashed into a ground vehicle. Two dead, multiple injured. We seem to have an inordinately high fatality rate associated with air travel.

DC has been fixing so many roads lately that DH and I have complained about it, LOL. Right now they're taking lead pipes out all around the city and will change the ones to your house for free. We took the new Acela train to NYC already this year and Amtrak is introducing the Airo train this year.

But, I agree that I'd rather pay for cancer research than paying for wars. I'm a pacifist. And, yes, call your reps or other Congresspeople if you live in DC and don't have representation.

If Europe is unable to fill their gas storages their people are going to freeze to death next winter.

Americans who haven't traveled much have zero clue how far we are falling behind the modern world. It is amazing what countries can build when they're not throwing away $5 trillion dollars down the toilet in the middle east.

We went to Japan and it is just mind blowing how everything works. Trains are on time. Trash gets picked up. World class infrastructure. Virtually no crime. South Korea, the same thing. Singapore the same thing. Taiwan the same. Even a country like Thailand had much more affordable healthcare in our experience (broke arm cost $240 total to treat with zero insurance). We haven't been to China yet, but their progress with regards to modernization is blowing the US out of the water. Many areas of the US are stuck in like 1960s development and have gone downhill since.
