There's a lot of countries that have been here and their people are most certainly better off. That is a myth you're telling yourself. It may not be horrible, but there's no way we'll be better off unless it cripples the billionaires and they all move to China. Yes, the Republicans are foolish. They want to rely on fossil fuel and a fossil fuel economy but yet invade and poke the bear with oil rich countries assuming the oil will easily be up for grabs and the “war will pay for itself”. Remember the insurgents in Iraq burning up the oil refineries and causing a global oil crisis /price hike which eventually spiraled into Putin becoming a billionaire and the US and Western Europe getting a recession?
