Also, we don't technically need MAGA to win. Do I think we should shun people who start to open their eyes, no. But, for those of regularly talking to MAGA family many of them CANNOT stop talking politics because for the vast majority they're in a cult. Look at Johnson and elected MAGA, he refuses to even meet with Dems, despite that being his job. The Dems are at the Capitol willing to work, while Johnson has all the MAGA at home on vacation. That very much reflects reality for many of us on a micro level.

DP but for starters, one is a student protest group and one is an affiliate of the Republican Party with ties to the current administration (including some people who have worked in government).

To be clear I don’t agree with the message “death to collaborators.” But it seems to be students in response to a particular Gazan death.

Whereas the text chat was ongoing for months using slurs over 250 times. These are the people age 18-40 in line to take over the Republican Party. And we haven’t heard any condemnation from the White House …

Are you the white parent? As a biracial woman myself, trust me when I tell you, your children have a different racial experience than you. They feel and notice things that you do not, that you cannot. And a time will likely come where they inform you that they have absolutely experienced racism from your MAGA family. And they will spend lots of money on therapy coming to terms with the fact that their own parent cared more about keeping the peace with these people than protecting them.

To answer op - I cut off one uncle who when me annd the kids s were him he brings up chemtrails and litter boxes in school bathrooms and what a shame it is that kids are getting operations schools to be trans.

My parents I did not cut off but we have a truce that when we enter the house Fox News must be off and we cannot talk about anything related to politics. Conversation is often sparse but we can try to enjoy time together for birthdays Xmas etc
