In his first month in office, President Donald Trump’s approval rating is at 52%, with voters most satisfied with his job on immigration, reducing the cost of the government, and returning America to its values. The majority of voters support Trump’s policies on the border, focus on government expenditures, gender, DEI, and offshore drilling but have concerns on his foreign policies involving tariffs, the Israel-Hamas war, and the war in Ukraine. Download key results here.

“People are taking a generally positive wait-and-see attitude for Trump but have really reassessed their attitudes toward Biden, Harris, and the Democrats, taking a much harsher, more negative attitude,” said Mark Penn, Co-Director of the Harvard CAPS / Harris poll and Stagwell Chairman and CEO. “Trump has a real opportunity here – we’re seeing a healthy, trudging approval edging toward real approval based on how the next couple of months turn out.”

This is what is known as a “push poll” and it’s crap.

It may very well be a crap poll but it's safe to say that a majority of Americans do support the most if not all of the proposals in this particular poll.

Trump’s methods of carrying out these proposals combined with his distasteful rhetoric are the cause of opposition and resistance from a growing number and soon to be majority of Americans.

This is how a POTUS with generally popular common sense agendas can have a job approval rating in the 35% to 40% range as Trump did during his first term. At the rate his approval rating is sinking in his second term, he may wind up as unpopular as Carter was by 2028.

Trump does not have “generally popular common sense agendas.” At all.

Harris voter here. NP.

The things Trump says about policy are popular. Generally. Not all. What he said about the US controlling Gaza is not popular.

But he has bad numbers on execution and the actual state of the country. He doesn’t actually accomplish much. He’s a lazy idiot.

This thread seems vaguely familiar. Good Trump polls being ignored as junk or biased. Hmmmm, what does this remind me of? Can't quite put my finger on it.

Reminds me of Trump saying that Musk is "good with vote counting computers"

This week, Mr T continues his streak as least approved newly inaugurated President, even beating out stuff competition from the 2nd worst...himself, last time.

61% of Americans want HUD's scope to be expanded or kept the same. Only 17% want it to be reduced or eliminated.

Trump Admin says it will reduce HUD's staff by 50%.

538 is being shuttered. No longer updating as of today. Is there any other website that aggregates polls and rates pollsters for quality of methodology? Or anyone that will fund this? Of course anyone can look up individual polls, but it's the aggregate that matters.

"As we were instructed not to publish any new content, all planned updates to polls data and averages are canceled indefinitely"

I’m sorry to hear this. I think that their data and the way that they presented it was top notch.

What horrible timing. I don’t think it’s coincidental at all. We should add Disney to all strikes.

What did you think of Slotkin's response to Trump last night?

Unpopular or controversial ideas? I don't think they are. How do they stack up against Trump's ideas? His actions like tariffs, the chaotic layoffs and wreckage to the government and intrusions and risks to personal data in IRS and other agencies, the gutting of crucial social services so that billionaires can get huge tax breaks right now certainly aren't going over well.

Latest Reuters/Ipsos poll has Trump at 43% approve, 50% disapprove in the overall numbers.

He's underwater and his downward slide continues.
