It really shouldn't be a tough call. Anyone that has been on the roads knows they're fine. Especially when you get out of your neighborhood. Go easy on the accelerator and use some common sense in the meantime.

I don’t know what the decision will be but although I can drive around my neighborhood, I don’t think a bus could. Currently. And it’s a bus route.

H! I predict the opposite.

They're heavy. They're going to do fine in this.

My kid has MCYO rehearsal tonight at Strathmore. People drive from all over to send their kids there. My humble opinion is that MCPS should be open tomorrow, with a delay because of the early morning windchill and ice. But I will take whatever they decide with good humor. It's not the end of the world!

They'll be fine. The trash trucks were fine this morning.

Drop offs are going to be a mess.

Trash trucks are not carrying kids. Imagine if there were to be an incident involving students.. because they decided to open schools.

There are far more bus accidents when there isn't snow or ice. They should just stop providing bus service. Too much of a liability.

DP I just saw it too. I googled MCPS delay january 9 and it appears in my search results. But if you click on it there is nothing

Make sure it's January 9th, 2025!

The one I am seeing in a Google search says Tiesday, January 9” so obviously from a different year

Buses do a lot better in the snow than people here seem to think. Yes, they're rear-wheel drive, but they're much heavier than a car. Part of the issue is that MoCo mostly
uses sand, not salt, on the roads. So the snow stays, but the sand helps you get around. The heavy weight of a bus helps even more with the sand.

Buses really aren't going to be a problem.
