Except that no one is demonizing anyone. The issue is simply that biological males should not be playing sports against biological females. Why can’t you grasp this?

The issue is much bigger than sports. And yes people, the most vulnerable here, are being demonized.

I'm a huge supporter of individual rights but I have to agree with the PP if simply stating the fact that biological males shouldn't be allowed to compete biological females in athletics/sports. That's just basic common sense and acknowledging that obvious truth isn't demonizing anyone.

I was glad to see the Washington Post Editorial Board now supporting this commonsense approach.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/11/14/moulton-trans-women-sports/

It is true that bigots will seize upon the sports issue to demonize transgender people. I find the issue somewhat similar to how antisemites will seize upon criticism of Israel to demonize Jews. But this doesn't mean that we should never criticize Israel or set boundaries when trans rights conflict with women's rights.

I agree. But in turn doesn't mean we should vote for a self-professed aspiring dictator who aligns with Putin and brags abou grabbing women by their pussies.

So let their parents deal with. Parents rights and all, right?

Schools are quite literally teaching gender identity ideology

Do parents cease to exist? They want prayer back in schools now. We’re an atheist family. Is my kid going to turn Christian because there’s prayer in school? No. Because I’m still the parent.

The thing is, these christians are terrified their kids will learn what being gay or especially trans is and put a name to the way they’ve been feeling all along. It’s not indoctrination they’re scared of. It’s learning about queer people because some religions people’s kids end up being LGBT. They want to force them to be cisgender and have straight relationships. They want to trap their children in unhappy lives and sham marriages with unwitting partners because they (the parents) feel they have a vested interest in their kid being straight and not trans. That’s the truth of the matter.

That is entirely different. Your kid isn’t going to need counseling and therapy if they are the 10 commandments- or even if they “turn Christian”

Gender dysphoria is a DSM-5 diagnosis.
There are psychological implications of children changing their genders. It shouldn’t be “taught” or normalized in school as some flippant choice. Which is exactly what is happening

If they’re not trans learning about the existence of it doesn’t make you trans for crying out loud.

It’s not just “they exist” it’s grooming children to think they can be whatever gender they feel like on any given day. Which if that is what you think and believe- cool- but don’t teach a classroom full of preschoolers this

Same. As a moderate independent, I could never ever vote for Trump. But other Republicans? Yes, I will vote for them, once Trump is gone from the party.

I'm afraid Trump is masking how out-of-touch the Democrats are from the majority of voters. A LOT of people only voted for Harris in order to vote "against" Trump.

Granted the GOP is just as bad with the MAGA stuff. But, I suspect that will fade without Trump's active patronage.

Basically, when Trump is gone, the GOP could easily win the POTUS by running a Chris Christy or Mitt Romney type.

Lots of Dems won down ballot even when Trump won at the top. Explain this.

So long as it doesn’t involve permanent effects the way puberty blockers and surgery have been shown to have.

So you have a say in what other parents provide their children for their medical care? You know more about other people’s kids than their doctors and therapists do? Wow. You must think very highly of yourself to think you have a say in everyone else’s kids.

Of course. Why do you think we banned things like FGM or require emergency medical treatment even for Christian scientists for minors?

Ok. Good point. I understand that. But I am begging for people to understand as well, and I’ll leave it at this, is to see the humanity in people who are transgender. Children included. All the commentary on here leaves out that these are human beings, and there is going to be real harm that is going to come to them. Equating them to foxes is inhumane and cruel. And when you see that, it is very hard to not dig in and beg for people to see that these are human beings, not some talking point for political gain.

If kids see the “trans” kids getting all the attention, becoming the popular crowd, being seen as the cool kids, then yes, you can be absolutely assured others will also claim to be trans as well. It’s kid-nature 101.

Seriously, do you even have kids? Because anyone with kids sees this behavior all the time. “Oh Kimmie Blaylock rides horses and everyone thinks she’s so great… I wanna ride horses too!” “Orson Kennedy plays lacrosse. He’s cool and tough. i wanna play lacrosse, too.” That’s how kids work.

How do you NOT know this stuff?

I’ll say this about the trans sports discussions, nothing has let people know what trans is more than the politics of the right. I’ve met a a couple people that came out as trans after about it in the news. I saw more online. That’s literally the right’s definition of grooming. Their politics grooms people.

Nope. Trans is not queer. Sorry. It’s a very different thing than sexual preference.

25% of Gen Z are LGBTQIA+. The vast majority of those are not gay or queer or trans, they are nonbinary or bisexual. Those are basically culturally created. IOW, exposing kids to these things creates them. These kids are not gay or straight, they are culturally indoctrinated to deny those things.

As adults, we prefer the culture that we live in, which does not include these created categories. So why should we teach our children these things? Or let their teachers teach them?

You know who are also human? The woman prisoners punished for reporting the abuse they experienced at the hands of transwomen put in prison with them. But the left has no problems demonizing those women and dehumanizing them. Why don’t you care about the humanity of vulnerable women? Why do you prioritize the humanity of people who are transgender over the humanity of women who suffer because of gender ideology?

Title 9 and the changes Biden pushed were at the federal level, and those are the most visible anti-woman-athlete legal positions in this race.

Instead we fought about pronouns. Dumbasses.

The problem with this strategy is Dems also spent the entirety of the pandemic screeching that there WERE no “medical freedoms”, at least when it came to doing what an individual thought best for their own body, and that “freedumb” itself was a dangerous, Trumpian concept worthy of scorn and ridicule whenever it was brought up.

So the “freedom” avenue isn’t available to democrats now. Not for at least another decade or two.
