True. Maybe GC was missing a number of players but Potomac beat them handily.

That was the JV team.

Navy is Varsity, Gold is JV, White is Freshmen.

Why would they put their JV in top division?

I don’t think so. I saw the GC Amazon out there.

We had 2 varsity players sub in for JV players that couldn't be there. But the rest were JV from last year. Varsity has always been Navy.

Wanna play varsity? Compete well against varsity teams.

GC not going to be close to last year's team w/out NW player. SR will be top team in DMV this spring w/Potomac, Visi and SSSAS right behind. GC would be lucky to finish 3rd in ISL this year.

Don't think anything should be based off a single STJ game, but I do agree with PP that GC not going to be nearly the team from last year and I agree with PP that GC would struggle with top isl teams this year.

It did seem like people were underestimating the impact of losing a 3-time WCAC player of the year. Her WAR was off the charts.

Didn’t Stone Ridge also lose a huge 2024 class with at least 5 or 6 top D1 commits? Potomac has a loaded 2025 class and Sssas had a loaded 26 class. This spring will be a fun one to watch for sure.

OK, I like this string. For those who don’t know, Wins Above Replacement (WAR) is a baseball term that values a player by estimating how many more wins he's worth than a replacement-level player at the same position. In the CG scenario, how many wins above replacement was HR? I think it was A LOT.

I'm going to go with rumors of GC's demise being greatly exaggerated. They have like 10 commits in their senior class and several more in the Junior class. I believe they had a couple of Freshman start last year as well. I'm guessing they will be tough again. Not sure what the interleague schedules look like (they played Visi and SR last year), but I don't believe any ISL team, including SR, would be favored playing them.

I would put my money on Stone Ridge.

GC played an entire half player down, and now NW player because of 2 yellows, and SR still couldn’t beat them.

Now imagine missing her for the entire season. Let's not pretend she was not a difference maker.

What was the score for that half?
