In her video announcing her diagnosis she looked completely fine and supposedly had already started chemo. But now she’s bald and physically decimated behind the scenes? I agree she doesn’t owe the public an appearance but I do think she does owe them silence rather than misinformation i

Hair loss does not start until a couple of weeks in. She has just started treatment at that time. And nobody said she was physically decimated - I wasn’t during chemo - but I was bald and while my wig worked okay for me in public, it wouldn’t cut it for a princess whose appearance is a big part of her brand.

How long does it take to grow shoulder length hair back?

Not all chemo causes hair loss, especially if it’s “preventive”.

There is no such thing as preventative chemo.

Silver lining, though: More $ for Jeff!

Insulting DCUM posters and Jeff at the same time. Why don't you just leave this website in your rear view mirror?

It doesn’t necessarily mean her cancer is more serious.

Agree. The initial announcement said she is going through “preventative” chemo - if she had anything beyond stage 1 cancer, it seems unlikely to have used that phrase. But traditional chemo (compared to the targeted chemo therapies that are thankfully on the rise with various cancers) is very tough on one’s body and spirit.

The initial announcement said her condition was not cancer at all. So much of the verbiage from KP was bungled or confusing from the very beginning. First it was “Routine abdominal surgery” (but nothing about abdominal surgery is routine) with an oddly specific notation that it was not cancer (but nobody said it was) . Then, it’s cancer but preventative chemo. No such thing as preventative chemo. Chemo is difficult and taxing and if it were preventative for cancer, everyone would use that . Then, they mentioned William would take time off because he’s on the “school run”. Another odd term.

Now, the term surrounded by family and only with “birth family” is used.

There is preventative chemo - lots of young women with stage 0/1 breast cancer are given the option because breast cancer in younger women tends to be more aggressive and faster growing. It’s called preventative in the sense that technically surgery should remove all of the cancer because it is early stage, but doing chemo reduces the chance that rogue cancer cells are circulating via lymph nodes that didn’t get picked up in a scan (they’d beed to be forming into a tumor for a scan to highlight them).

I didn’t think she looked completely fine in the video. She looked very thin and like she had lost weight.

All the pictures and videos are confirmed fakes.

Are you being sarcastic? Or is the cancer video confirmed fake?

It’s not confirmed fake but it was shot by BBC studios rather than by KP or Kate herself. Make of that what you will

Concur with pp. I am also someone who has had chemo. If you look of the term “adjuvant” chemo which is used all.the.time in the US, you will see the word preventative used in the definition. Some people around here seem to think their ignorance gives them a free pass to make up facts. We live in a terrifying time of conspiracy theories born out of stupidity and fear.

Appreciate the informative post from you and PP above. Best to all of you who have fought cancer.

Idk they don’t seem too bothered by Andrew’s antics. Sarah’s Cannes rant was pretty wild, though!

I just find it so weird how Charles, older, has been seen and Kate hasn’t. She’s worn wigs and endured horrible nausea before. Whats different now?

Don’t you know anyone who has gone through chemo? She’s probably bald, including eyebrows and eyelashes gone, possibly gaunt but possibly puffy due to steroids, feels exhausted, nauseous, may have painful mouth and throat sores, GI issues, so on. I certainly can understand why she may not want to be out in public, especially as someone who is constantly photographed and analyzed on her appearance. Geez if people can’t cut this woman a break when she’s going through cancer treatments, I think there’s no hope for humanity.

The photo was fake. The video was fake. Pretty sure the “I have cancer” was a Hail Mary bc people can’t argue with you once you pull the cancer card.

It’s crazy that they’re saying she won’t be seen now for THE REST OF THE YEAR.

Do you get your information from Tik Tok and Reddit?! Google “adjuvant chemotherapy” and stop posting misinformation.

From preventative chemo she has a years worth of this parade of horribles you listed?

By whom, reddit?

Even the video where she says she has cancer?

That's what the Q types have alleged, upthread. Ridiculous.

It was widely reported that Getty noted the video did not meet its editorial standards. Doesn’t mean it’s fake but it is odd.

If willing to spend the money, she could get a wig and we would not know it. I don’t think hair loss is the problem. And I’m sure the doctors knew when they operated and saw it that she had cancer. Whatever she had done was very serious. Heart operations don’t usually require a two stay, maybe a week,

Kate’s hair has looked like a wig for the past year. And she’s worn wiglets for even longer. If she’s not seen I doubt that’s the reason why.
