| What does this mean? No appearances till end of year? Have known many friends with cancer and during treatment they were not living at their parents. |

If she needs support and help and doesn’t want info to be leaked, it makes sense to hunker down with her parents.
She likely needs help with the kids, and it makes sense the grandparents would help. |

| Look, we all had a fun few days when no one knew where she was and we got to speculate about facelifts and interference from the Ministry of Magic and whatever. And we were all appropriately chagrined when it turned out she had cancer and we were reminded that even though they put themselves in this weird public position and then make inconsistent or perhaps unreasonable calls for privacy, the most important thing is that we’re all responsible for our own behavior even if it feels harmless to speculate online. |

Would you not want to be with your parents and have their support while dealing with cancer and chemo and having three kids?
Would you rather be with paid help? |

| I have no idea what’s going on with her but as a 43 year old with young children facing stage 3 breast cancer, it absolutely crossed my mind to move in with my parents! I didn’t because my cancer center is better than theirs… but facing chemo with young children is super daunting. I have one more round to go! |

I’ve been through cancer with numerous relatives, friends, colleagues and patients (I’ve been in healthcare for a decade now).
Most of the people I’ve known who had cancer while still in their working years continued working, at least part time, while undergoing treatments. Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Alex Trebek are two examples of wealthy people who nevertheless worked throughout cancer treatment. Kate is either taking full advantage of her royal privilege by quitting work entirely, or her cancer is very much more serious than her announcement let on. |

I hope Jeff lets this thread remain if people stay on task. Her “preventative chemotherapy” does not at all explain why she and the younger two kids haven’t been seen in five months. The messaging on this has been horrible. I am not saying she needs to be doing appearances if she is struggling with a health condition, but what they are putting out doesn’t make sense, and at some point people want proof of life. It seems she has disappeared. |

Well, it isn’t like she’s going to lose her insurance if she doesn’t “work”
It is probably a combo of situation worse than reported and using her privilege. And I don’t begrudge her one bit. Let her be. |

| I suspect her cancer is worse than she let on. Given all the rumors and the situation with Charles, if she were in in good enough shape to make the occasional public appearance, they would be have her photographed every once in awhile to quell speculation. While I certainly hope she’s okay, the fact that we’re never seeing her suggests she’s not. |

| I assume she’s going through chemo and does not want to be out in public right now, which is understandable. But agree that this does not sound good…hope she’ll be okay. |

Exactly. Let her and the kids be. The main thing they need now is privacy not strangers speculating on every photo. Plus - chemo makes people lose hair and lose weight. I can't blame Kate one bit for not wanting photos out there of her without her luscious hair the public is so used to and possibly looking skinnier than ever. Leave her alone. |

She already looked anorexic before chemo, can you even imagine what she’ll look like 20-30 pounds lighter? |
