Typical of haters. Cant acknowledge any good.

The poster could have put in a little effort to summarize, I'm not blindly following a link.

Ok Im the poster. It has two different stories about how pit bulls saved children. One didnt even know the child.

Better?

There is no one (or very few) denying that there are good pits. The problem is that pits are known ticking time bombs. They will be nice and kind and fun...until their not. And although there are many breeds of dogs that can turn and bite, the problem with pits are when that happens with other dogs, someone gets an injury ranging from mild to severe. When the same happens with a pit, it ranges from severe injury to death. Pits are much stronger and much more deadly when something triggers them and when they attack. There is no minor injury when a pit goes berserk. Many more severe and fatal injuries from the same behavior in pits that would be minor in other dogs.

Pits really should not living in heavily populated areas. They can be fine in less populated and rural areas where the risk of an attack is lower and they are a danger to far fewer people. But the danger to the public from them in more heavily populated areas is not a good risk to take.

No everyone here is denying there a good dogs. Remember the people scteaming 1 percent pit means DANGER!

How can this blanket accusation possibly be true?

Is every single one of the millions of pit pulls in the US a ticking time bomb that will go off at any minute?

Lets say there are 10 million pit bulls in the US with an average life span of 10 years and then everyone of them is going to "explode" at least once at some point, there would be 100s of attacks a day....pit bull deaths would be the leading cause of death ahead of everything.

I just don't see that - do you?

So what do you mean by "ticking time bomb"?

Thanks, pp!

Was was the word "unprovoked" in quotes. How sure are we that these were " pit bulls" and if so what makes you sure it was the American pit bull terrier in them that did it?

Was just coming to post this. Another family pet “pit mix” that had never shown any aggression.

I don’t understand people willing to take chances with these dogs. Bled to death in his grandmother’s arms when he should have been getting ready to trick or treat instead. Horrific.

Jesus. Little kid playing out back in a fenced in yard and these monsters still get to him.

What is the point of all these posts? Is this going to solve any problems? Why pick on dogs that have some "pit bull" in them? What is your agenda? Is it trying to convince people that they should be banned? All euthanized? Because you are only convincing the people who agree with you.

Why not start a thread on the dangers of swimming pools? Or the dangers of guns in schools?

Are you just going to keep posting these stories forever??? According to you all if pit bulls are soo dangerous everyone of us would have been mauled or know someone has been mauled. Being mauled is very rare despite how many times you post. And since we don't know the dna of this dog we have no idea if it was an American pit bull terrier.

One of our neighbors has a pit ("Aw she's a sweet little pittie, she's harmless, she LOVES children!!") and it is really aggressive. It has jumped up on my 7yo before, it was terrifying . We don't go near that dog anymore.

You should report the dog.

Pit-bulls are about 5 percent of the US dog population, but commit 70 percent of all fatal dog attacks. Anyone that owns a pit-bull is a horrible human being.

I think that’s the hope of the people who love pit bulls, but tides are turning. People can see through the pro-pit propaganda.
