My point was proven...abandoned and mistreated. I feel for the boy

Other dogs in the neighborhood are. Not that particular dog.

And why do so many people get sick of these dogs if they’re soooo sweet and perfect and trainable? That’s weird, right? Maybe these dogs are as unlikable as we think they are. Maybe people can’t take their weird skin conditions and odors. Maybe they’re sick of their kids getting “nipped.”

What makes you think this dog was trained? If you haven't tried how can you say they are not trainable? You know we used to think some people couldn't learn so we put them in institutions

Because it looks about average for a “trained” pit bull. These aren’t bright dogs.

Again, this is your opinion, not fact. https://fotp.com/learn/dog-lifestyle/everything-you-need-to-know-about-pitbulls-intelligence

Pit bulls are ranked ABOVE AVERAGE which quite honestly is brighter than you and most haters

1) ad hominem attack
2) one of you pro pit bull people was just saying there’s no such thing as pit bulls. The American Staffordshire comes in at #34, but because there are ties, it’s at #45. And that’s assuming some sort of “purebred.”

Pits are dumb. You can see lots of pictures of them becoming ESAs and police dogs, none of them at work. Because they’re dumb. Because they have a tendency to eat people when they’ve passed out. They’re not good dogs.

Pit bulls are a group of several different breeds of dogs. You keep repeating their dumb without facts just makes you...dumb

Who is "their?" Bully breeds/pits/whatever you want to call them are the only kind of dog who has an outright lobby trying to make them acceptable pets with all the talking points, which you hit ever so nicely. Is there literally any other dog breed people do this for? Haven't seen it and I've been in rescue and training for a long time. Some Golden mauls a toddler (this is basically a hypothetical as the last "Golden" mauling dates to 2010 and...it looks like a Pit with long hair) there's not an entire idustry rallying to make them good dogs. They don't need it and we'd all BE that dog immediately. The Pits...gosh they just have to circulate forever. If you truly need to belive "it's the owners?' look inward to that, because then it means the owner SUCK. Which, 20% neuter spay rate is probably about right, but that's your problem to fix!

Pit bull dogs are the most hated so of course we have to defend them. Just because a few oners Re bad does not mean we all are. My dog is neutered and trained. How about you? And Im refering tp all dog owners.

How about me? I'm highly experienced in training protection, sport, seeing eye and therapy dogs. Yeah, my dog is neutered and trained. I honestly think you pit people should look into what other dogs are capable of. You like to generalize your undesirable traits as universal, but that is not at all accurate. If you're an exemplary owner? Well, tell "your " people, because they're total trash and we don't see this with any other breed, however dangerous they could be. You're lack of understanding of the danger is the main thing. I'd sooner let my kid pet a 170 lb Akita than one of these "lab mix" bullies you have.

I am not responsible for every pit dog owner. And how do you think I would go about " educating" them? And when did I generalize about dogs?

The danger I see is in the bad owners and the general public who do not understand dogs and they expect them to be human. Or they expect them to be disney dogs..there when you need emotional support and quiet when you don't want them

+1 The “rescuers” (they’re very rarely rescued from anything other than a crappy backyard breeder) especially seem like they don’t understand what they have as their dog yanks on the leash, front paws off the ground “he’s friendly!” The hell he is.

Also follow along with the story of Justin Gilstrap, a little boy who was completely scalped by pit bulls. You know, the kind of thing doodles are always doing, right? https://www.facebook.com/groups/832333734527994/

Why is the comparison between a doodle and an American pit bull terrier mix? Why not a Chow or German Shepherd? Cane Corso? Nope because you know that those other dogs can also be tough. Remember when those dogs were the "baddies?"

Mostly because owners of Chows, Shepherds (of all varieties), Akitas, Rottweilers, etc are aware that their dogs were bred for things that might make them unfit for happy family fun times pets (Cane Corsos, too, but their owners are starting to blur the line and breed them with pit bulls. Because that’s what the world needed). That they require experienced owners. That they’re not for everyone.

Meanwhile pit bull owners are out there, barely able to hold back their lunging dogs, insisting that pit bulls were bred to be “nanny dogs” (nope! they were bred to take down bears in a fighting ring!) and are nothing but lovable couch potatoes. You know we can all see when you post that your dog has shredded your couch, right? We can see when you publicly ask for help because your pit bulls is drawing blood or ate the cat and the tranquilizers aren’t enough. We know when you jokingly post if anyone’s seen your dog again because she got out, again, and she’s not fixed (of course not! Might want to breed that and list the puppies for $1K).

One could ask why you guys compare the limb ripping, blood splattering aggression of pit bulls to chihuahuas.

First of all, awareness is not the criteria that these articles are going for. You can't tell me that all the people who own Chows, German Shepherds etc are aware that their dog is capable of killing or attacking. They all think "not my dog!" Btw, my dd when two was knocked over by a huge golden retriever "just being friendly" Yes it didn't bite her but, it could have given her a concussion and it scared her.

My dog has never destroyed anything of mine and he loves to cuddle with me on the couch. Then again he is only 33 percent American pit bull terrier! And wrong again because we did neuter him.

The real bad guys don't say that there dog is a nanny dog you fool. They have the dogs chained in the backyard. Giving no medical care, food, water or love of a family.

We should crack down on all those who mistreat dogs and not allow backyard dogs. Then we will see maulings and attacks go down

Here is a article about American pit bull terriers

https://www.thesprucepets.com/history-of-the-american-pit-bull-terrier-1112227

not one of these breeders say that they are "bred to attack people or bulls"

Most of the breeders just show them dangling off of ropes to show their biddability with a subtext that they'd do great in a fight ring, but point taken I guess?

For exercise! Are you feeling sorry for the tire

I don't feel sorry for a tire, but I feel sorry for families like the one in TN who had their XL's since puppyhood and paid thousands for those dogs with the assurance they were bred to be non human reactive and then killed or mutilated the entire family. I even feel SOMEWHAT bad for the parents absolutely freaking out on the FB page who also bought dogs ($$$$ dogs) from this breeder finding out that they were knowingly breeding fighting champions with human kills under their belt. But also...Darwin in action?

"For exercise!" is so flip it's disrespectful to the many human victims of these breeds. It should be expected though. It's always, "the owner not the breed!" but people with these dogs are generally aholes so we come full circle...

So one breeder equals every breeder. After all if one person is guilty than they all must be. Right, pp?

Who buys dogs without doing exyensive research?

Not a pit, but a similar level of delusion in owning a stupid “pet” that can eat your baby. This time a wolf hybrid.

I mean who keeps a part wolf in a home with an infant. Parents, please choose to protect your own children over the thrill of owning an animal like this. How stupid. I feel so sad for the baby.

Wonder what the other half is, because the wolf-dog hybrid attack in Virginia in 2018 https://www.cbsnews.com/news/lee-county-virginia-wolf-hybrid-kills-8-day-old-baby-lying-in-bassinet/ sure sounds like a pit bull’s MO. And given the reckless way back yard breeders breed their pit bulls to literally anything, it would not surprise me if either or both of these were pit bull mixed with wolves.
