Are you unable to understand the concept of a multi-layered approach to public health, or is this more of a willful ignorance thing? |
This is a red herring. Who cares. The only thing that matters is when people are forced to mask when vaccines are available and that should stop now. |
Idk you’re pretty willfully ignorant about the low risk of covid to kids so you’re not setting a good example of taking your head out of the sand. |
Most people also recognize they shouldn't take their contagious kids around other kids to help keep the other kids. |
Said by someone who has a vaccine available to them and their family member and couldn't care less about people still waiting for a vaccine for their own kids. |
No, “most people,” at least those who have a modicum of knowledge about science, health and germs, know that we do not, can not and should not pretend to live in a germ free bubble world. The pandemic has done a number on your rational sense, PP. We all have and are continually spreading all kinds of germs. Most won’t make you actually sick; some will. That’s just reality. Welcome back to it. |
I understand that permanent mask mandates aren’t good for schools and they need other layers (ventilation and paid sick leave are options) to help these kids, plus remote options when needed. All northern Virginia districts have remote options, most have improved ventilation. |
Pretty sure the preschool kids in public school already take their masks off for lunch and nap time. The masks are just decorative. |
I’m happy to stay away from your kids. They have no reason to interact with mine in school. |
You’re not exactly demonstrating an understanding of a multi-layered approach. |
You know the kids aren’t in the building by themselves, right? |
DP. Apparently the previous poster who complained about other people wearing masks in grocery stores cares. |
This. I think this is becoming hugely political, on a national scale, if this is filed in federal court. A lawsuit like this could also affect the 49 other states in their adherence to the ADA. It would throw us even further into the national spotlight, for what I believe is political coverage. I also agree that the ACLU probably wouldn't win. This seems to be spiraling out of control. And in the end it's the children who suffer. |
Staff should be vaccinated. Someone so at risk that the vaccine is not enough should be working for a remote school program. |
I think multilayer can NOW include less restrictive measures such as air filtration, open windows, and vaccines - and that in 2022 we don't need to force the restrictive mask layer approach for all and allow people to do it optionally as they want. That's what multi layer looks like in 2022. |
