I hope this is it. People, EVERYONE in NoVa wears masks everywhere and EVERYONE AND THEN SOME has freaking Covid. And it has very little to do with schools either. People are catching it masked and unmasked alike. blah, blah, blah...
I've got friends on both sides of this issue. 100% of the anti-masker families I know have already caught covid at least once. Less than 50% of the people I know who voluntarily wear masks have had this supposedly "inevitable" disease.
Yeah. Just anecdotal, obviously, but our family has strived to be diligent about masking and the other guidelines for the past 2 years, and none of us have gotten COVID. We do not eat out indoors, we do not use our gym membership currently, we wear masks in public, we got vaxxed as soon as eligible, etc. it does not feel like a huge sacrifice for us, and if everybody who could also did this, the pandemic would be over sooner.
Many of your neighbors have been working in person since sometime in 2020. We all can’t “just stay home.”
Right. That’s why I said “everybody who could.” Those who can take the precautions (I.e. work from home), should. In part to ease the burden on those who cannot
But it didn’t make any difference in the end. Covid is here to stay because of infections in mostly unvaccinated, developing countries. Your actions didn’t really make any difference. I mean, they kept you Covid-free (I’m assuming) which is great, for you, if that was your goal. But you staying home and giving up a lot of things that make life worth living didn’t meaningfully ease any societal burdens.
I disagree. I think it did. Even if it didn’t/isn’t, doctors and medical professionals are begging us. So that’s enough for me to do it
They aren't begging you, it's all in your sick mind, get help. NObody is saying you have to stay locked up and afraid forever. Nobody. It's all in your warped reality and none of us are obligated to indulge you. My friend, who is a doctor at a very busy NYC hospital was walking around unmasked outdoors when others masked and she got together for dinners with us all the time. She saw who exactly died of Covid and who is at risk. most patients at risk were elderly with more than 2 comorbidities and all younger patients were obese. Stop listening to fear news for clicks and actually ask real medical professionals who do work with Covid patients.
They are. There have been a number of recent news articles, open letters from doctors, etc imploring people to help turn the tide. You can do a quick Google news search to see for yourself
