+1 Tim Walz might be a “nice guy,” but in no way do I see him ready to lead the country (if necessary) through tough - and unpopular - decisions. Or Kamala Harris, for that matter. |
Sorry you cannot engage on the question. Tim Walz has what it takes but they are not taking on his skills, all they can do is try to undermine his character, which is not working. Of course, I can see that you are one of those trying to do exactly that’s Bye |
Like a governor perhaps? Walz is a proven leader. Bonus points that he can do it while being Minnesota Nice. |
I disagree that a male politician who let the words “childless cat ladies” spill out of his mouth has any strategy. You cannot insult people and then ask them to vote for you. This is not hard. |
What leadership position has jd led? None. As a high ranking NCO, Walz has led men and women in multiple deployments, if not in war, oversees assignments and tornado and natural disaster recovery. As a governor of a state with a population of 5.8 million people and hundreds of state employees, he has far more experience than Vance. |
Hillary learned that lesson the hard way. |
He had military command, led classrooms and football teams, served in the Congress and is a two term governor. He certainly has more experience than Trump and at least as much as Pence did, if not more. |
Well, Trump was super duper unready to lead the country the first time he was elected and he learned absolutely nothing in his four years of pretending to be a president, and so he is the worse choice. |
DP. I so agree with you! Which is why I find it simultaneously amusing and pathetic when liberals insult Republicans but then expect them to vote for Democrats. That's some real cognitive dissonance, wouldn't you agree? |
First of all, no one in any position of power has insulted large swaths of people; all the jokes, the talk about 'weird', are directed towards the candidates. There is ZERO expectation that MAGA will vote for Democrats. There is some hope that the unaffiliated, the disenchanted, the disconnected will though. And more than anything, Democrats are focused on energizing the base, and turning them out to vote. Because high turnout favors Democrats. |
I’m not sure that high turnout favors democrats anymore. The political realignment by educational attainment means that high turnout may disproportionately boost republicans. |
Umm... Hillary Clinton and her "deplorables" remark? At any rate, I was referring to Democrats here on DCUM and other sites insulting Republicans at every turn. And note, I didn't say "MAGA," because a lot of Republicans are not MAGA - but Democrats insist on lumping them all together and also use the term "MAGA" as an insult. As a moderate Republican, I actually did consider voting for Harris, thinking she would choose a moderate like Josh Shapiro as her running mate. But she didn't, so oh well. As for the "weird" business - it's a joke that has been played out and is now just stupid and tiresome. Plenty of weird on the left, as we all know. |
