WH correspondents dinner: Michelle wolf yay or nay?

I love how the Trumpsters are outraged by a random comedienne but totally cool with Orange Turd. No one cares Trumpsters. You all $hit the bed when you voted in Orange Fatty. That is your legacy and forever more you will have to live with those repercussions.

That no one, even the media, is actually doing anything to change or affect anything in this country anymore and everyone is just profiting off the miserable state of government. They secretly love Trump. They created the monster and they are all profiting from him. Her point is spot on and her act was brilliant.

Do you really think that an act that's point is that the government is in a miserable state due to the "monster" in charge is appropriate for a non-partisan event? Guess what, it's not fact but opinion that the government is in a miserable state and that the president is a monster. This is not the place for her to air that opinion.

No, she's a political comedian. If they really didn't want her to say what she said, they shouldn't have chosen her. Good for her for doing her craft and not walking it back to pander to that room full of pimps and sycophants.

Yes, and many of us know that there is no way in hell they would have picked a conservative political comedian.

Can you name any? I'm having a hard time thinking of one besides Dennis Miller.

And you're still missing her point. Wolf's point was that the MEDIA and all parties within government are failing in their ability to actually affect change. Listen closely to the last 2 minutes of her speech. And the government IS in a miserable state, whether you are conservative or liberal, it must be acknowledged. If you know anything about basic government functions and responsibilities, you must acknowledge that a budget hasn't been passed for a full fiscal year in more than 5 years and the rate of passed legislation is at a historic low. There is zero party leadership from either side and party in-fighting is at an all time high. This is the definition of a miserable state of government.

These roasts have gotten way out of hand. Every year, the comedian just tries to keep pushing things further to the edge just to make a name for themselves. Making such over the top attacks towards conservatives was a very safe thing for Michelle Wolfe to do, because the controversy just raised her profile, and the people who "count" meaning Hollywood, loved it. This was all about her trying to make herself a darling to the left and it worked.

Well, it’s easy to see, based on your post, that you totally approve of Wolf’s appearance. Same views. Same foul-mouthed comments.
Yet another liberal protected by your little cocoon in an echo chamber hoping to one day emerge as a “progressive.”

Again. No one cares. You picked Orange Fatty. Forever more that is your legacy. Porn stars, creepy daughter love and touching women's genitals forever more. Own it! You broke it. Deal.

I had the same knee-jerk reaction to the first half of the abortion joke that many people did. Then I thought about it some more and it's actually really clever. It's not only about the hypocrisy of anti-choice conservatives, it's also about the depth of that hypocrisy. Prominent anti-choice conservatives aren't just saying one thing and doing another. They're asking their mistresses to do something that, by their own beliefs and standards, they consider to be "murder."

Referring to Sara Sanders as a female Uncle Tom is an opinion, not "truth". I am female and share her views as well, and don't consider myself to be an Uncle Tom. That's what those of you defending Michelle Wolfe don't get. You can't separate opinion from fact, since you share her opinions, you view what she says as "truth" For those of us with different opinions, it's not truth.

Which views? That it’s acceptable for a government representative to flat-out LIE to the American people?

The Uncle Tom joke is about Sanders' willingness to make excuses and even outright lie in order to protect Trump and his administration. Are you saying that doesn't happen?

+1.

And that's just one example of offensive of a dozen offensive and certainly non-factual personal attacks by the non-funny comedian.

"He (Pence) thinks abortion is murder. Which first of all don't know it till you try it. And when you do try it, really knock it. You gotta get that baby out of there."

WTF???

Also pro-choice and I was appalled by that "joke."

That wasn't the end of the joke. That line was to get the reaction from the crowd, and set up the punchline: "And, yes, sure, you can groan all you want. I know a lot of you are very antiabortion. You know, unless it's the one you got for your secret mistress."

Right, I was offended initially (I'm prochoice), but by the end was amused.
It's funny cuz it's true.

Who says it's true? Half the country doesn't agree with you. Don't you liberals get that? The abortion joke not only deeply offended the pro-life half of the country, but a large portion of the pro-choice half as well. And this was only one of a long string of jabs at non-liberals. If she wanted to say this in a night club or HBO special, fine. But the WHCD is not supposed to be so partisan that it totally bashes half the country. How do people really not get this?

Agree. I'm pro-choice (though definitely don't consider myself a liberal), and found her comments on abortion to be revolting. I think having to have an abortion would be heartbreaking, though I believe it's a personal choice and needs to always remain legal. To mock it is horrific.

Interesting that no comedian has ever taken on a WH spokesperson before for the lies they have told - neither Carney nor Earnest were targeted for the lies they told, which, by the way, were far more consequential than anything that Sanders has said that may not be accurate.

I like your euphemism for lying.
