Do you really think that an act that's point is that the government is in a miserable state due to the "monster" in charge is appropriate for a non-partisan event? Guess what, it's not fact but opinion that the government is in a miserable state and that the president is a monster. This is not the place for her to air that opinion.

No, she's a political comedian. If they really didn't want her to say what she said, they shouldn't have chosen her. Good for her for doing her craft and not walking it back to pander to that room full of pimps and sycophants.

Yes, and many of us know that there is no way in hell they would have picked a conservative political comedian.

"He (Pence) thinks abortion is murder. Which first of all don't know it till you try it. And when you do try it, really knock it. You gotta get that baby out of there."

WTF???

Also pro-choice and I was appalled by that "joke."

That wasn't the end of the joke. That line was to get the reaction from the crowd, and set up the punchline: "And, yes, sure, you can groan all you want. I know a lot of you are very antiabortion. You know, unless it's the one you got for your secret mistress."

Right, I was offended initially (I'm prochoice), but by the end was amused.
It's funny cuz it's true.

Who says it's true? Half the country doesn't agree with you. Don't you liberals get that? The abortion joke not only deeply offended the pro-life half of the country, but a large portion of the pro-choice half as well. And this was only one of a long string of jabs at non-liberals. If she wanted to say this in a night club or HBO special, fine. But the WHCD is not supposed to be so partisan that it totally bashes half the country. How do people really not get this?

She didn’t attack half the country. She pointed out the hypocrisy of rich “family values” males that keep being discovered as being involved with illicit affairs and pressuring/forcing women to do things, including have abortions.

Oh come on! When speaking of abortion she said, "Don't knock it until you try it. And when you do try it, really knock it, you know, you gotta get that baby out of there." Do you really not think that the majority of this country, including those that are pro-choice, do not find this joke revolting?

DP here.
One comment about the abortion joke (which I found horribly distasteful)..... one good thing about it.... a liberal finally admits it is a baby that is being sucked out and not a mere mass of cells.

Another comment.... Michelle Wolf doubled down on her “act” yesterday on NPR. She said she does not regret one thing she said.
Yet, she recently deleted thousands of her tweets. If she is so proud of her “comedy,” why did she feel the need to delete her tweets?

All I see is Mike Huckabee's younger face with long hair and smoky eyes.

Can you name any? I'm having a hard time thinking of one besides Dennis Miller.

I am not offended by the abortion joke. I'm a mother. I have never and would never have an abortion. But I get the joke. The joke is that he CAN'T TRY IT BECAUSE HE IS NOT A WOMAN. Get it? ALL THESE MEN deciding an issue that they are never going to personally deal with. No man will be pregnant. No man will bear a child.

And I thought this segment was pretty funny, too:

I love how everyone, who's so offended, can't actually point out one thing that she said that's untrue. Since they can't go after her facts, they're going after her tone. Basically, they're just mad that she's calling them out on their bs.

I had the same knee-jerk reaction to the first half of the abortion joke that many people did. Then I thought about it some more and it's actually really clever. It's not only about the hypocrisy of anti-choice conservatives, it's also about the depth of that hypocrisy. Prominent anti-choice conservatives aren't just saying one thing and doing another. They're asking their mistresses to do something that, by their own beliefs and standards, they consider to be "murder."

Yup, but they don’t go after political views, so I guess they are “safe”? At least for these delicate conservative snowflakes

Politics aside, I never liked the idea of roasts anyways. Why do we condone an event in which someone is forced to sit down and good naturedly accept 20 minutes of insults directed toward them? It's just rude and mean. I thought Michelle Wolf was way over the top, but I also didn't like it when Don Imus joked about Bill Clinton being a philanderer at the WHCD back in the 90's. Sure I agree with what he said, but I don't enjoy seeing a man and his wife being in such an uncomfortable situation, these are jokes better saved for late night TV. I'm not into events that involve insulting people to their faces. Can't the WHCD just get rid of the "roast" segment altogether?

That’s a different question for the WHCD to think about. Yes Michelle Wolff told some mean jokes but so did every comedian in prior years of the event. I thought she was hilarious for the most part.

Referring to Sara Sanders as a female Uncle Tom is an opinion, not "truth". I am female and share her views as well, and don't consider myself to be an Uncle Tom. That's what those of you defending Michelle Wolfe don't get. You can't separate opinion from fact, since you share her opinions, you view what she says as "truth" For those of us with different opinions, it's not truth.

Yeah and it's totally crappy. Why do people think this is a good idea?
