WH correspondents dinner: Michelle wolf yay or nay?

I am a super liberal gay male and I thought this was just offensive. We cannot have meaningful discourse and thoughtful disagreement in America if we keep insulting the "other." I am ashamed to see where we are headed as a country.

Is it the hired comedian's job to elevate our discourse? The discourse was already lowered... by the president, his cronies, and the media's endless breathless coverage. All the comedian did was point the vulgarity right back at them. As Sarah Huckabee Sanders once said during a press conference, "It was just a joke, maybe you guys need a sense of humor." If that's the press secretary's defense, how can you fault a freaking comedian?

You were offended because she offended liberals and gays. But the Trump supporters are so narrow minded and self absorbed they didn't even notice.

Republicans that are not Trump supporters though could see the whole skit for what it was worth.

You must be very easily amused.

She stooped to the level of Trump and his minions. Slinging mud and hurling insults isn't going to get us anywhere. Repeat: They go low, we go high.

She really didn’t stoop that low.

I still don't see how what she said was offensive (aside from the abortion joke). Can someone please explain?

A comedienne has no obligation to raise the discourse or go high. Perhaps people should put that burden on their elected officials. Oh wait. That is how we got Trump.

It hurt the feelings of the poor, little GOPers. So sad!

I think you are confused. The people who RUN THE COUNTRY should not be slinging mud. However, comedians should be allowed to do whatever they feel like doing, insulting or not. If you don't like it, don't watch her Netflix special. Her type of humor is not my cup of tea and I would never really watch her. But it is beyond hypocrisy to act like she did something wrong. There is no way she could stoop to the level of Trump, because she does not have that level of responsibility. There is no way for her to be as bad as him, because she is not a leader. Her job is to take care of herself and write jokes.

They are over-sensitive snowflakes.

Aren't they ever. It is embarrassing.

I like it. It further erodes the liberal medias power. The Donald has made it so nobody can authoritatively attack him. It's all just a bunch of noise now and that works in his favor. His dismantling of the media in 1 year deserves the Medal of Honor.

For crying out loud, are you trolling or stupid?
