WH correspondents dinner: Michelle wolf yay or nay?

I think people assume she made fun of shs ‘s looks bc THEY would’ve made fun of her looks. She’s an easy target. She’s also the face of an administration that lies to and insults the press daily. She’s not s victim.

Whether it was funny or not is immaterial. The point is that it wasn’t appropriate for the venue.

Go back and read through this thread. It was meant for a national audience yet was insanely partisan.

It was disgraceful. And I'm a democrat. Shameful and tasteless.

It was great. Sorry you have no sense of humor.

Um. She went after the national (liberal) media and she went after the current administration and she also made jokes about Hillary. If most of her jokes were about the current administration, well it's because those people currently hold the power.

Anonymous wrote:The abortion joke was disgusting. I'm pro legal abortion but the Left is going too far and are becoming horrible, horrible people.

"He (Pence) thinks abortion is murder. Which first of all don't know it till you try it. And when you do try it, really knock it. You gotta get that baby out of there."

WTF???

Also pro-choice and I was appalled by that "joke."

That wasn't the end of the joke. That line was to get the reaction from the crowd, and set up the punchline: "And, yes, sure, you can groan all you want. I know a lot of you are very antiabortion. You know, unless it's the one you got for your secret mistress."

Right, I was offended initially (I'm prochoice), but by the end was amused.
It's funny cuz it's true.

Who says it's true? Half the country doesn't agree with you. Don't you liberals get that? The abortion joke not only deeply offended the pro-life half of the country, but a large portion of the pro-choice half as well. And this was only one of a long string of jabs at non-liberals. If she wanted to say this in a night club or HBO special, fine. But the WHCD is not supposed to be so partisan that it totally bashes half the country. How do people really not get this?

Agree. I'm pro-choice (though definitely don't consider myself a liberal), and found her comments on abortion to be revolting. I think having to have an abortion would be heartbreaking, though I believe it's a personal choice and needs to always remain legal. To mock it is horrific.

THE JOKE WAS ABOUT REPUBLICAN HYPOCRISY IN TRYING TO OUTLAW ABORTION WHILE A MAJOR REPUBLICAN MOVER & SHAKER PAID HIS EXTRA-MARITAL LOVER TO ABORT THEIR FETUS.

You people can't handle the truth. Which is that Republicans are anti-choice except when it comes to their own lives.

I am super liberal.

I would agree with you. She was out of her league. And, she doesn’t seem to mind that she was offensive in a non-comedic way.

I agree. She seems talented though. The only jokes I really didn’t like were the Southwest one and the abortion one. The Trump-hate is funny for a while but it went too far here.

This whole non-story is a big, fat YAWN.

It was a roast. The comedian's at these things ALWAYS say stuff like this. Some of it lands, some of it doesn't. This is only news because a woman said it (sexism strikes again) and the current administration and their dingleberry hangers-on are so thin skinned.
