77+ years of dehumanization, malice, blood-letting, raping, looting, displacing, ethnic cleansing, and global apathy have led up to this livestreamed genocide without an equal. Even Nazis hid their crimes, and the common citizen of Germany didn't see the churning of the ovens. That is no longer the case. And yet, like the generations before, we watch and do nothing, or too little. |

The great tragedy is Palestinians rejecting their own independent state in 1947. This was the era of decolonization when dozens of new states were being formed - from the Middle East to Africa to Asia. Only Palestinians rejected their own very nice nation state and chose war instead. And here we are more than 80 years later. Rejecting an independent Palestine in 1947 may be the dumbest decision in modern history. |

Right, because the Palestinians tried to pick up where the Nazis failed. Unlike the Germans, who learned something from their defeat, the Palestinians keep trying to achieve what they were unable to do in 1947 and 1948. And, they obtain the same results every time. It seems to be a form of society-wide mental illness, underpinned by religious fervor. |

Apparently that's the Hamas playbook - steal the aid, and then publicize photos of the ensuing suffering in the hope that gullible outsiders will sympathize and pressure Israel to back off and give Hamas an opportunity to regroup. Hamas could instead just surrender, but that'd be too much like civilized behavior. |

The hostages is all they have. I'm not pro-Hamas, nobody is, and I think they're winning. They've successfully turned the world against Israel and I think this is what they wanted. But the Israeli govt moving to wipe out Palestinians, I don't see why Hamas would give up the one bit of leverage they have. |
