What pathetic "reasoning".   Taking hostages, along with wanton murder and rape, started the conflict, so let's keep on doing what we did to provoke the Israeli response we now complain of.  That "logic" could make sense only to morally and intellectually bankrupt people.  [/quote]

The great tragedy is Palestinians rejecting their own independent state in 1947. This was the era of decolonization when dozens of new states were being formed - from the Middle East to Africa to Asia. Only Palestinians rejected their own very nice nation state and chose war instead. And here we are more than 80 years later. Rejecting an independent Palestine in 1947 may be the dumbest decision in modern history.
