Hate towards H1-B visa holders

Interesting how so many Indians voted for Trump when his supporters continuously mock their accents, looks, and cleanliness. I guess everyone has their price.

MAGAs have been sold out. Trump will do some performative round ups in a couple of blue cities, but other than that, nothing will change, except a flood of even more immigrants.

So many people seem to have trouble distinguishing between legal immigration and illegal immigration.

sure, but H1 visa holders are legal immigrants. Why hate on them?

Why hate on illegal immigrants who do hard labor for peanuts?

Because they are here illegally. They are not here because we need more low paid workers, we have more unskilled Americans than we have unskilled jobs.
Poor black people are pretty anti-illegal immigrant in large part because it's their jobs being taken

Plenty of Indians I know voted for Trump.

Weird that they would vote for him based on the previous views of his administration from Miller, Bannon and Trump himself where they said they wanted to severely restrict H1-B visa programs. Indians must be breathing a sigh of relief that he now seems to be changing course on that because Elon wants more foreign workers.

I am an Indian American who voted for Harris, however, I don’t understand your point that “Indians must be breathing a sigh of relief”. Why and what made you reach this racist conclusion?

I know plenty of Indian Americans who don’t support H1-B or support it only minimally. There are PLENTY of Indian Americans that work in sectors other than technology, we have no dog in the H1-B fight. Like rest of the Americans we also worry that our kids won’t have a decent shot at good paying wages jobs.

People like me believe in worker protections and I truly believe America needs to invest in its workforce by investing in our own talent but you are too eager to brand every non white person as someone who is too eager to sellout America, whereas the truth is that a White person is conducting the sale right now.

Because to the liberals you are just another incel try-hard jeet.
They look down on you because you earned what you have through hard work rather than white skin privilege

The H1-B program is good for filling a few needed high skilled jobs but I don't think bring a bunch of Indians over here to do tech jobs is the answer. We need to focus more on these skills in our US schools to close the gap. Indians aren't inherently smarter than Americans. They just have a better focus for the .001% of their citizens that have the opportunity to get the education needed in the tech world.

Because the don’t care to distinguish.

The OP is unhappy with people objecting to these visas.

Meanwhile most of this thread is made up of liberals laughing at MAGA for voting for Trump who will expand these visas. These liberals are also against the OP's position.

It's actually not. Low skilled black workers are who were hired after raids at chicken plants and the Hostess plant. A while ago there were even videos of black construction workers in Washington DC protesting illegal immigrants working on a site in the city.

Does Trump employ any low-skilled American workers?

If you are talking about gifted programs and advanced tracks in schools then I agree with you. We’re cutting gifted programs for equity reasons even though we should be expanding them. We should have advanced tracks at school for the “gifted” kids and then super advanced programs for those really special kids that you identified.

Skilled Legal versus illegal migration matters a lot.

The highly skilled visas specialty occupations include fields such as architecture, engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, social sciences, medicine and health, education, business specialties, accounting, law, theology, and the arts.

Highly skilled foreign workers are filling gaps in US markets and help grow industries that create more jobs for Americans . Also other countries have paid for their education so that saves the US a lot of money while US gets to benefit from their education and work experience.

FACT SHEET by American Immigration Council
The highly skilled Visa Program and Its Impact on the U.S. Economy

Foreign workers fill a critical need in the U.S. labor market—particularly in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Every year, U.S. employers seeking highly skilled foreign professionals compete for the pool of H-1B visa numbers for which U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) controls the allocation.i With a low statutory limit of visa numbers available, demand for H-1B visa numbers has outstripped the supply in recent years, and the cap has been reached before the year ends. Research shows that H-1B workers complement U.S. workers, fill employment gaps in many STEM occupations, and expand job opportunities for all.

You seem to not understand. Americans can do these jobs (and currently do them) but they come with an American labor cost. H 1 B workers get paid $20-$30k less than Americans workers. Labor costs are the biggest cost for US employers. They’re trying to cut costs. Why they don’t embrace socialized medicine is baffling because it would greatly reduce labor costs.

They don't give a shit about that. My DH is from India and our very large social circle is made up of wealthy Indian professionals from many fields: law, medicine, tech entrepreneurs, etc. Many of them always vote republican for one reason only - TAXES. They want to preserve as much as their wealth as possible. This is a regular topic of conversation at all of our gatherings.

If US STEM and tech workers are being laid off, why do we need H1-B visas to double in those fields?

We are laughing at MAGA who honestly thought Trump was for all American workers even though we told you all that he cares about himself first and foremost. Musk financed Trump; Trump will back Musk.
