So what is the path forward? A 2 week long clean CR to get us through the year? Will it be done by Monday at 8:00 am?

What would be the point of that? Still the same Congress, or the first day for the new Congress, still the same president. A 3-month CR would get us to the new Congress and new president, after they have settled in, and they could make decisions.
