Let's look at the numbers without the spin.
That statement is comparing December to January. December, 2023 was the LARGEST number of encounters in our nation's history. There were over 300,000 encounters at our southern border and that does not include paroles and those coming in via the CBP app.
January's number were over 175,000 and that was the HIGHEST January encounters in history. That is over a 200% increase in any January under Trump. For 35 straight months, monthly encounters have been HIGHER than even the highest month seen under the Trump administration.
(And these numbers do not include the got-aways. So far under Biden, we have had around 2 MILLION of those.)

So, there is no real "downturn."
