| More partying opportunities? |
"Adequate". I don't know a single person who's gone to Michigan for academics. It's a party cool - like Dartmouth. |
So what |
| Because CHICAGO. It’s been said at least once on here but people aren’t noticing. Michelle Obama’s biography made it very clear that they were moving back to Chicago when Sasha graduated high school. Like many, many kids, maybe she wants to be close to home. |

Also, this rankings obsession is comical.
What? Your friend is marrying a husband only ranked 9th when she could have had 7th?? Oh no, you bought the bread ranked 5th in popularity! Oh my, you chose a name for your child that used to be ranked 11th and is now ranked 20th! |
Limits of your life. Oh well. |
|
This thread has gone on for nearly a month.
What I truly want to know is why exactly do people care where she goes? Why is this getting more than a 'Huh. That's interesting/surprising to me/good for her." Why can't people let this one go? |
Because they are obsessed about where Michigan belongs in the top school pecking order. |
+1 Because every school that their child didn't get into is elitist and only lets in privileged cheaters. +1 Because every school that their child did get into but opted not to attend will lead to a future flipping burgers. Sasha could go to any school as the President's daughter, and her choices make people feel insecure. |
Zero chance. Nobody circles back to south side Chicago — he won’t even put his records at that library he’s building there. Obamas will be in Manhattan, DC, California and Hawaii. If she’s really going to Michigan it’s because her best friends are going there — and a swing state mom will need to carry in 2024. |
I vote Manhattan, and I'm from the south side. However, when home, 1st stop is the south side for eats. And Michigan is a good school. It was one of the 7 colleges DC applied to and would've had no problem with attendance but ED elsewhere won out. |
| Well she’s been spoted on campus, so it’s official. |
Good for her. It's a great school and lots of kids from DC area private and public schools go there. |
+1 I bet she'll have a great time there. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2019/08/28/sasha-obama-set-begin-college-career-university-michigan/2121895001/ |
| Looks like it's been confirmed. As a Democrat and supporter of the former first family I'm actually kind of appalled they're ruining her future by sending her to a 3rd rate university... |
