Why not, it is a great college!
Many, many CEO's in our country graduated from land grant colleges. |
As another Democrat and supporter of the former first family I’m actually very appalled at how ridiculous you are. |
Michigan is not a land grant college. Michigan State is. |
| Which sorority? My guess is KKG (top tier, mostly Jewish) or Tridelt (top tier, slightly diverse). |
When my sister went to UofM a few years ago (graduated in 2016), the big three for wealthy, coastal kids on campus were KKG, Alpha Phi, and Tri Delt. Alpha Phi had a big scandal at UofM recently. I think Sigma Kappa has also started to get that crowd, not sure if any others are drawing nowadays. From what my sister has told me about the Greek Scene at UofM and the people I knew in it, I’d think a little less of SO if she joined these. |
So weird. I went to Michigan (graduated 2000) and Tri Delt. was popular, Kappa somewhat, and Alpha Phi not at all. Chi Omega and Tri Delt. were most sought after and somewhat diverse in terms of east coast/Michigan and religious background. Both mostly white. Then there was AEPhi as sought after for mostly Jewish east coasters |
Kappa is not Jewish at Michigan. |
Your point is not relevant...U of M is not a land grant college. - Go Blue!!! |
| Huh? Why are you guys assuming she is going to join a historically white sorority? Why not one of the top, historical, black sororities? |
Her mother is an Alpha Kappa Alpha so that would be my first thought. After that, maybe Delta Sigma Theta, or Zeta Phi Beta.....see where I'm going with this? |
| Does it matter? Michigan is a horrible choice. I can't believe they would set up their daughter for failure. |
I haven’t seen many pictures of Sasha with her friends, but I’ve literally never seen Malia with any black friends in any gap year/college photos. |
Yes, it is. Well over 50%, Chi O is nearly all Jewish. |
Sorry you (or your kids) didn't get in. |
...and I'm assuming that the pictures you've seen were all from the media? Not that what you wrote isn't true but you can't tell what someone's real life is like by looking at magazines. |
