I don't think it was too offensive. And I am disappointed in the statement by the head of the WHCA.

Did you even listen to it? It's unfathomable that someone could actually listen to this and not think it was too offensive.

What was offensive?

"He (Pence) thinks abortion is murder. Which first of all don't know it till you try it. And when you do try it, really knock it. You gotta get that baby out of there."

WTF???

Also pro-choice and I was appalled by that "joke."

That wasn't the end of the joke. That line was to get the reaction from the crowd, and set up the punchline: "And, yes, sure, you can groan all you want. I know a lot of you are very antiabortion. You know, unless it's the one you got for your secret mistress."

Right, I was offended initially (I'm prochoice), but by the end was amused.
It's funny cuz it's true.

Who says it's true? Half the country doesn't agree with you. Don't you liberals get that? The abortion joke not only deeply offended the pro-life half of the country, but a large portion of the pro-choice half as well. And this was only one of a long string of jabs at non-liberals. If she wanted to say this in a night club or HBO special, fine. But the WHCD is not supposed to be so partisan that it totally bashes half the country. How do people really not get this?

Since when? Also, let's not pretend that anything is normal anymore, or that Donald Trump is just an ordinary Republican president. He's not. He's something entirely different, and will be treated accordingly. She didn't hold back when she was given the opportunity to speak. Good for her. Also, having watched it, I'm not sure where the outrage about SHS being attacked for her appearance is coming from? She called her a traitor to women and a liar. She attacked her character, which anyone associated with this administration, especially its propaganda arm, deserves. Same with Kellyanne and Ivanka.

Hate to break it to you but half the country voted for him. You can't have what is supposed to be a non-partisan event so viciously attack essentially half the country. Her act would be fine in a different venue, iyt was totally inappropriate for the occasion. Good entertainers should know how to tailor their act for the crowd they are performing for.

25% of the country voted for him.

She didn’t attack half the country. She pointed out the hypocrisy of rich “family values” males that keep being discovered as being involved with illicit affairs and pressuring/forcing women to do things, including have abortions.

If it really were half, you wouldn't feel like such losers. It's far less than half, and shrinking with each obituary. Bye, Felicia!

That no one, even the media, is actually doing anything to change or affect anything in this country anymore and everyone is just profiting off the miserable state of government. They secretly love Trump. They created the monster and they are all profiting from him. Her point is spot on and her act was brilliant.

Do you really think that an act that's point is that the government is in a miserable state due to the "monster" in charge is appropriate for a non-partisan event? Guess what, it's not fact but opinion that the government is in a miserable state and that the president is a monster. This is not the place for her to air that opinion.

Well considering he won the election with half the vote, and half the country is Republican, that seems like a reasonable statement.

Do you understand how voter turnout works.

Maybe PP isn’t into things like FACTS.

No, she's a political comedian. If they really didn't want her to say what she said, they shouldn't have chosen her. Good for her for doing her craft and not walking it back to pander to that room full of pimps and sycophants.

Don’t confuse pp with numbers and facts. Republicans never have been good with math.

It’s done. This dinner, at least in its recent format, is over. The ugly, obnoxious, vulgar comedian Michelle Wolf killed it, and not in a good way. She thought she was doing some routine in NYC or Hollywood, not appearing on a national stage. Idiot.

Oh come on! When speaking of abortion she said, "Don't knock it until you try it. And when you do try it, really knock it, you know, you gotta get that baby out of there." Do you really not think that the majority of this country, including those that are pro-choice, do not find this joke revolting?

Ok, fine. She insulted half of the voting population. The bigger point being is that the country is roughly split between conservatives and liberals, and at a non-partisan event she chose to attack the values of half the country.
