Toxic Masculinity

Correct. Fun fact: American evangelicals are the only people in the history of the world among whom the man is the boss & women are subservient.

Why does there seem to be a resurgence of this whole “tradwife” tradition?

It doesn’t seem to make sense; like time is moving backwards

Trump is No. 1 in toxic masculinity and he is revered by white males who also want to grab women by their kitties, rape with their fingers, and suffer no consequences. Look at the billionaire class who treat their wives like $hit. I don't have an answer and I hope my sons will remember what they were taught and behave accordingly.

I feel like, if anything, J.D. Vance is more toxically masculine than trump.

Vance is not masculine though. He's a bona fide weird nerdy dolt, similar that weird deportation nazi Miller. If anything they all are compenasting for not being masculine enough

Wait - I thought I’d read reports during the campaign he wears eye-liner.

Was there any truth to that?

This isn’t the way I would choose to live, but it’s not necessarily toxic. It many ways it can be freeing to have an established system of rules and norms in place.

LOL yeah right when you get to be the one on top. It certainly isn’t freeing for the ones on the subservient level.

I guess you think slavery was great too, established order and rules…very freeing.

I am smart, good looking and know better than everyone else. I shall go print a 3d gun and use it on whatever target I deem worthy.

Haven’t read all 18 pages (don’t have time).

But, emblematic of the current zeitgeist is the hypothetical query for women in 2025:

Would you choose man or bear?

It’s a choice. No one is making these women do anything. Get a grip.

Depends on what kind of bear, honestly.

The thing about the bear is that it wouldn't later gaslight you and claim that you actually wanted it to attack you, or that it could not possibly be the bear who mauled you because you aren't good looking enough and the bear has standards.

Is it therefore safe to assume your choice in this dichotomy, PP, would be the bear?

You forgot the /s for sarcasm.

And Islam laughs at your ridiculous statement.

The men I've met who are obsessed with masculinity and manliness have all been kind of sad people who don't have much going for them. They cannot be bothered to actually do anything worthwhile so they fall back on their Y chromosome to feel better about themselves. But of course then they alienate potential dates and friends and dig their own holes deeper and deeper.

The whole trad-wife / SAHM thing is absolutely caused by toxic masculinity.

Does anyone else feel like these big beards are associated with toxic masculinity?

I mean, obviously not every man. And not like the Sikh gentlemen. Or observant Muslim men; that’s their faith tradition and I respect that.

But what about these other men with these big beards for no apparent reason ?

Nonsense. Nothing wrong with wanting to care for your children.

Because women are weak, incapable and coddled and not able to make decisions on their own lives themselves? I'm confused by this, PP.
