Jack could have left his phone at his house while committing this crime. He could also have been the one who called his own phone using the girls phones. And leaving the the other 2 roommates unharmed maybe to make it look suspicious for the 2 surviving girls. So i want to know what evidence do they have to rule out these 3 obvious suspects??

I know we don't know all of the details, but this was a brutal murder with a knife against 4 people. Do you think a college aged female roommate could/would do that?
Like the pp's said, the public doesn't have all of the information. It's possible that obvious clues were at the scene that suggest a suspect other than the roommates and ex-bf.

Criminologists and FBI profilers (both former and current) all seem to agree on a profile of this guy -

1. Someone they know - although not in the inner circle. This could be an acquaintance or someone they’ve interacted with a few times.

2. A White male college age or just a smidge older

3. Someone who was predatory - not a reactive crime. So basically someone who was watching, observing, stalking and waiting.

4. Someone who had been in the house before.

Also- the evidence gathered from the scene (that they are not disclosing) reveal that it seems that one specific person was targeted (maybe 2).

Kaylee’s family has gone on record saying they firmly believe the killer was known to the victims and will probably even be at the memorial service. I do think they may have some info that has not been disclosed. Hopefully the more evidence they process will give them a good lead and cause for arrest.

The Oregon attack was in Salem Oregon last year. Similar in that an unknown assailant broke into a house in the middle of the night and stabbed the 2 people inside while they were sleeping. One person died, the other survived. They have no leads.

This article lists more similarities with the Oregon case

Both unsolved cases involved a suspect armed with a knife breaking into a home at around 3am and attacking victims while they slept in their beds.

Both murders took place on the 13th of the month.

Also in both cases, other people were home at the time of the killings and were left unharmed.

During Travis’ murder, a friend was sleeping in another room. The friend was staying over to pet-sit because the couple were supposed to go on a trip to Hawaii the next day. The friend was woken by the commotion and is believed to have scared off the attacker, before calling 911.

Similarly, two other roommates were in the home at the time of the murders in Idaho. They were unharmed and are believed to have slept through the attack.

Ms Juetten added to The Independent that all victims are believed to have been stabbed in the torso and revealed that a pet dog was also left unharmed in her son’s home when he was killed. Moscow police revealed this week that Goncalves’ dog was found unharmed in the students’ home following her murder.

OK sleuths, what's the story with this guy Jeremy Reagan, 3rd year law student, who is giving interviews about living near the house where the kids were killed? He's well spoken enough but claims he has social awkwardness. Seems really odd that a future lawyer is putting himself so out there, yet says he didn't even know the people killed.

Agree that he is oddly seeking attention but no way he is killer IMO. He would have had wounds and also been catch on cameras exiting his house. The latest rumor is that it could be related to incident at frat house earlier in evening, which is why there has not been attention drawn to movements of two victims from 9pm to 1:45am. Really hope LE comes up with something soon or this case is going cold.

Yeahhh the Reddit boards are full of conjecture and rumor about both these things. I don’t think JR has anything to do with it. If he did I’m sure he would have been arrested by now. Could be something to the Sigma Chi connection but I’m also taking that with a huge grain of salt.

The social outcast weirdos on Reddit blaming wealthy and outgoing frat bros. What a shocker.

The idea of this is so nauseating. I know it's not uncommon, but to be so suspicious and on guard during a time you should be focused on the deceased....

According to websleuths, police has dna profile for suspect and are doing genealogy research to identify.
