As for me, I'm never doing any of this again, and I will actively fight it next time. I put up with this shit last time even though I disagreed with it, but this is stupid. Seriously I never thought I would find myself agreeing with republicans but here we are.

I don't think restrictions will happen though, bc politics....we have elections in november lol.

Why are some people so obsessed with being anti mask? Seriously- what’s the big deal about covering your goddamn mouth and nose during a pandemic in a public indoor space like a grocery store? Go about living your personal life as you please, see people indoors, risk getting covid or whatever you want, but what is the big deal about having some decency in a public, non social place like a supermarket where everyone - those who don’t care about covid, those who are being careful, the immunocompromised, the pregnant woman, the elderly, or the parent with a vaccine ineligible kid in tow- must shop?

Because I do not need to adapt to your mental health problems. I don't care about your anxiety and nerosis.

If you are in such a medically fragile state that you can't handle thr sniffles then you need to stay in your hyperbaric chamber. Not. My. Problem. Get some SSRIs.

This really sums it up.

You were lucky. Maybe. You do not know the long term effects that can surface in the future. Studies show you have been affected but may not have symptoms yet.

Long Covid affects the vaccinated too so it’s not just a cold and it’s irresponsible to compare Covid to a cold. It travels to the brain unlike other viruses. It is not a joke.

And not everyone can be vaccinated yet so it would be appreciated if we could still treat this as a serious virus.

Risk is low right now (we think) but if it surges again, I hope people will be responsible. Western Europe is having problems again so we may be next.

Lets not forget about asymptomatic cases too- could be a ticking time bomb with really bad implications down the road and all these people who didn't know they had covid will never know what is happening.

Is there any reason to believe this particular coronavirus is worse long term than the other coronaviruses that circulate now that we have widespread immunity? Viruses have always had nasty side effects. It's just that most of us didn't spend any time thinking about them.

because they have seen some changes in people's bodies that they haven't seen in previous coronaviruses

I have been wondering the same myself about what’s different about this coronavirus vs the others that are regular cold viruses.

Again! Another dcum poster who throws out the “mental health” comeback when they disagree! I don’t care about the topic, just shut up with the stale and stupid insult.

Americans are selfish and reject science when it affects their lifestyle.
They claim to have Christian values but don’t care about their fellow man at all.
I’ve found the human response to Covid to be very sad. I feel a little depression all the time that people care so little about others.

If I wear a cloth mask it does not protect me and it does not protect you.

If you wear an N95, you have all the protection you need.

Maybe you're stuck in 2020 and don't accept this, but in this house we believe science is real.

DP. I don't know about a person's mental health and all that, but I'm certainly not going to mask to assuage their fears and what they think is/isn't decent. Fortunately, I'm in Virginia so it seems unlikely that I'll ever have to universally mask again. I've only had to wear a mask a few times since last May.

People keep proclaiming this…then if you look into it you can find tons of research on all the nasty stuff other viruses do too. Brain, heart, clots, etc. all viruses can screw you up.

Keep rolling the dice sister, FAFO how sick you can get.

Not in the least bit worries. Young and in perfect shape. Set PRs both running an lifting with Omicron and didn’t even know I had it until a tinder hookup called to say she was sick and I should take a rapid test.

Just that for the first month or so I bought all the fearmongering, stayed home to slow the spread etc. Was very easy to see after a month what was real and what was horsesht and will never fall for that again. Sorry you are still getting played.

Same here. It became pretty clear within a month or two that the people getting really sick or dying were a very different demographic than me or my kids. Went back to pretty much normal life as soon as we could after that.

I rarely see high quality masks properly worn by people.

Where are you looking? In the District almost everyone is wearing N95s or KN95s. Our offices are handing them out and we're all ordering them online now that they're widely available. Because... we're not idiots. Your cloth mask-focused arguments do not match reality.

Live in MoCo, work in DC.

Rarely see legit masks properly worn. Even my doctors aren’t wearing them correctly.

Guess what? My super covid safe dc office is updating our mask policy to drop it.

Well on a related note scientists have detected changes in the flora that inhabit our mouths due to the prolonged mask wearing. What will the long term consequences he? No one knows.

+100000. This. If anything the pandemic has showed me how stupid people are.

You have a mental disease. It's okay, but you should get treatment

When someone with mental health issues asked you to do something pointless to make them feel less uncomfortable, you shouldn’t succumb to their anxiety. They need to get treatment for their problems, it’s not up to others to humor them.
