If republicans cared so much they would fund the infrastructure to process these asylum seekers quickly. Cartels have a billion dollar industry set up now smuggling immigrants in. They tell them exactly what to say to get “asylum”. None of these migrants qualify, but our current court system will get to them in approximately 12 years. So of course it’s worth it for them to come. We don’t need to legislate new wording to these laws. We need the docket space to process in 12 days, not years. Immigrants won’t be willing to pay the cartels. Wake me up when republicans want to fund the infrastructure for processing. Till then, abortion and bodily autonomy is my number one voting issue ( and this is my first time posting that) |
You're asking the Republicans to fund stuff because cartels are holding a gun to our heads. You realize that, right? That's your solution. Are you ever in favor of fixing the real problem? |
WTF are you even talking about? I am saying take away the industry. Period. If migrants get turned right back around, they won’t pay to come. I’m saying destroy the industry. Don’t be an idiot. |
OK, understand now. That's not the problem. They will pack the "infrastructure" with left leaning judges that let everyone in and legalize them. The borders guards they send down there have been turned into baby sitters. They won't require any documentation and the system will default to benefit of the doubt, with the view not being what's best for the country, but what's best for the illegal entrant. They aren't even trying to create any resistance to coming here, because this administration's view is they want to "brown the country". It's ideological, not logical. |
I am PP.
No one seems to want to address the "politics" of providing services and benefits to immigrants with taxpayer money when our own citizens/taxpayers are being forced to do without. Particularly our vulnerable elderly. |
Poorer folks in Chicago and New York know…. wonder if they’ll remember come time for elections. |
"We need the docket space to process in 12 days, not years. Immigrants won’t be willing to pay the cartels. " This is where you threw me. We don't need docket space. It's 3000-5000 coming in every day. That is not sustainable and they know it. They simply want to collapse society so there's no reistance to their power. What we need are strong physical barriers (not the appearance of them) and a remain in Mexico until your turn. I agree. The social safety nets are collapsing and it only gets worse from here. |
Your tinfoil hat is showing. |
Nope. The guidelines are very clear. Even if a judge is sympathetic their hand are tied. If there is a judge and court space this problem goes away in less than 2 years. IT WILL COST A FORTUNE. but it would be worth it. It will cost less than a decade of wrap around services for economic migrants, which is what 95% of the incoming people are. The Republican Party in its current iteration is incapable of solving this. I get that they scratch an itch and say some satisfying things. But they don’t believe in government and they aren’t able to build anything anymore. Look at the speaker debacle. It’s nothing but dysfunctional chaos. It’s a grievance and culture war party. You are better off supporting moderate democrats so the Democratic Party has more strength to push against ( what is currently) a small progressive wing. The democrats need their echo chamber pierced. And I know that sounds totally counter intuitive, because they have a faction pushing for unlimited immigration. The Republicans don’t. I get that it sounds crazy. But it’s how politics works. And we can complain or we can make politics work for us. |
We need to go back to the “stay in Mexico” policy for the fakeugees. |
I would love to hear how Republicans can fix this....real $$$$and policy, not rhetoric |
Who wants to collapse society? Immigrants? “So there’s no resistance to their power”? What power? And adorable that a Republican is complaining about the social safety nets collapsing. You guys have been busy with multiple pairs of scissors shredding the social safety net to a pile of shredded rope. It’s just unfortunate that Reagan destroyed Central and South America, and that you are all trying to replicate the same things here. |
