So much for the DCE "flight to quality." WCS throws kids together for tournaments without any practices. |
NP. They beat the Crabs - thats pretty damn good. |
Wow! Super cool! Thanks for the detailed excuse/explanation as to why your son's team narrowly lost a meaningless game. |
Not as impressive as you think. Crabs 2021 has imploded and lost a lot of guys from the summer. |
As is nearly every other team on the East Coast. Get over yourself. |
| Can anyone say honestly how the DCE 2021 B team is doing? DS declined a spot there in order to focus on school and I'd like to hope he dodged a bullet rather than miss a good experience. As it is, he is not playing club right now. |
That's true. Beating the Crabs 2021 is like beating Next Level. Be proud! |
Get over myself how? Every east coast team is improving? Every east team is drawing from the western US? I just want to understand how this statement somehow offended you, so it never happens again. |
| BLC has two full teams (A and B) for each graduation year and tons of kids at tryouts that they didn't offer a spot to. This is great for them, but can anyone explain why Madlax and Next Level aren't in the same position? They both have A teams, but don't have enough per grade for B teams so combine years (2023/24 or 2022/23). Seems crazy that they can't recruit enough players to fill rosters and slightly dangerous for younger kids to play up and a time waster for older kids to play down. Why would parents pay the big bucks to set their kid up on a half way team like this or is it just better than no team at all? |
Because it has an affiliation with the Bethesda rec program, BLC draws a lot of players to tryouts, but often many of these kids are not the typical club-level player. So BLC's tryout population is deep, but the depth doesn't always imply strength at the top for that class year. That ends up being more random based on the geography of the better players in that year. Until the older years in which people gunning for D1 etc. defect to the proven pipelines of Madlax, BW, and VLC, there is a lot of randomness in the strength of these particular clubs. |
| Does RoughRiders feed any private schools?? |
| If Madlax is such a "proven pipeline" then why wouldn't it be filled from the early years (especially in middle school) and on. Don't believe the hype, your claim is illogical. I think BLC is strong because people like the program and by middle school many are striving for DC Express. |
Please. DC Express has a long way to go before you put them in the same place as Madlax. They need to start having top recruits to D1 schools and that has yet to happen. Maybe 2021 will see some strength but so far nothing. |
Have you gone to any tourneys? Look at the scores...Crabs 2021 are very competitive beating virtually everyone in DMV regularly, and most of the top national clubs. DCE 2021 is at another level and has beat everyone. In NL Fall Ball league DCE 2021 won the championship beating Churchill VARSITY (5 D1 commits/19 yr old seniors). Has an all freshmen team ever done this before? We do agree that "Next Level" 2021 ironically plays at a level far, far below these teams. |
| Ok I just can't figure out how to ask any in real life parents this without if sounding offensive like I'm trying to say something about their kid: Do any kids play D2 lax in college? Boys/men I mean. I hear the parents talking about deciding between D1 and D3, and I see only D1 and D3 on this list, but I know there are D2 teams out there. |
