Usually bullying peaks in middle school and high school kids are more mature.
My bet is that the assailants in this case had been misbehaving for years. They need to be dispersed to different schools with clear notice that the next infraction will result in expulsion. |
Exactly. |
It was almost an ENTIRE week before the parents of the victim were notified by the school. WTF? |
Are you claiming that the school administration and the FCPD were notified several days before the parents of the victim (as opposed to parents generally)? Seems unlikely. |
My DC who goes to Oakton says that only the boy who actually applied the stun gun to the victim’s chest has been gone from school. The boys who surrounded and held the victim have never been gone from school, DC says. Some of them got a one day in-school suspension. Has anyone else heard the same? |
If that is true, both Scott Brabrand and Jamie Lane should be fired immediately. |
That's what I'm asking. See bolded above. It reads that the victim's parents did not know anything (unless that means the perps) until the following Wednesday, e.g., nearly 1 week later. |
|
The assailants and the kid who used the stun gun as well as the kid who videoed the whole thing should spend 3-6 months
in a lock down juvenile facility. |
This is incorrect. PARENTS means all OTHER PARENTS of Oakton students. Meaning an email went out to all students' parents in the entire school regarding the incident. The victim's parents knew on the day it happened. |

1. Boys who stunned him are in ISS awaiting sentencing
2. One of the mob boys who held him got a 3 or 5 days suspension 3. Not sure what other mob boys who held him got for penalty. 4. All the HS kids at surrounding schools have seen the thugs’ pics and these losers are now ignored. |
thank goodness!! |
9-12 months seems more fair. |
| All, ask your kids to share/show you their Snapchat. every kid in this area has seen the photo of the kids who did this. These kids went from popular to infamous. Everyone knows them - no one wants to be their friend. Sad. But that’s life. |
Public shaming of these hooligans is appropriate, punitive, and will serve as a deterrent. Hopefully the assailants will rehabilitate themselves. |
|
^^public shaming is not enough. These kids need a good year in a secure facility.
I recently watched Alpha Dog. Same kind of kid - “good family” The dad is working all the time to support the country club life for the wife and kids. The mom plays tennis and volunteers. But really the kids are doing their own thing. With no supervision and no consequences. Wake up, please. It’s ok for your kid to do a year in juvee. Yes, he will get his ass kicked. But it’s a year. If you keep bailing him out, he’ll end up the likes of other notable “good boys” from “good families” - remember George from UVA? Yes, you failed as parents. It’s ok. You can rebuild - it’s never too late to fix what is obviously broken. |
