Huh? Quander Road is in Alexandria. Things that happen at the Dunn Loring Center would be more likely to show up in the Vienna police blotter.

I’m not understanding your post. Do rules allow punishment for attacking another student with a taser? What do you think? And what rehabilitation do you suggest? At the very least, the victim should not have to fear for his safety at the hands of these kids. They should be expelled and sent to another school, or first juvie.

great. they can end up in someone else's school and do the same type of cr*p

Somewhere between expulsion and “let’s talk it out” probably lies the right disciplinary response, at least for first-time offenders.

But it certainly looks like a case of assault on a child who emphatically did not want to be assaulted.

I think the punishment should be stronger. The punishment MUST be harsher than what would be doled out for just being caught with the stun gun.

Lock em up.
If they did that to somebody on the street they'd be in handcuffs.

This is outrageous. ALWAYS take any reported assault STRAIGHT to the police.

The POLICE will decide if they need to investigate. NOT your job to find the evidence of any wrongdoing. That’s what the police do.

I don't know what's worse...that a kid got hold of a stun gun and used it on another kid or that a GROUP of kids grabbed and restrained the victim so that he could be stunned again.

"Later, the video appears to show multiple boys grabbing and restraining the victim as he is hit with the weapon again." (quoted from the news story in the original post).

Rest assured, though, due to privacy laws, we will never know what, if any, punishment was meted out and what became of the kids who participated in the attack.

My DD is a junior at OHS and only found out about this event after I received the principal's email and asked my DD about it. It was all over Snapchat apparently.

Our public schools have become risky places to send your child.

Isn’t Oakton one of better high schools in Fairfax county? Hope this is an isolated incident.

The kid who used the taser/stun gun, and anyone who held the victim down, should be expelled. And criminal charges filed. There is no excuse. None. Not a single one.

We had an incident at school last year (different state) that thankfully, turned out to be a misunderstanding.
I don't know what VA schools do, but if this had turned out to be what was originally reported, our principal was ready to call the police.

+1 I so feel for that poor kid. What an awful and traumatic thing to have happen, and to know that people videotaped it and shared it for the amusement of other kids is sickening.

At any rate, the person who took the video, the person who tased, and the person(s) who restrained should all be expelled from FCPS and criminally charged. Bystanders should be assessed on a case by case basis.

There should have been communication from the school to all students and parents the day in happened. I do not trust the school to handle this situation with a focus on protecting the victim.

Event occurred last Thursday. No school Monday and Tuesday. Student reported to school Wednesday. School parents notified Wednesday.
