Apologists saying the victim may have called the boys a slur sicken me.
I think it’s safe to say that people call each other terrible racial slurs on a daily basis. Most people (even teens) on the receiving end have the sense not to physically retaliate. |
They demanded a dollar from him. Their were some words and the 16 year old hit him in the back of the head. He was facing the 16 year old, having words when the 15 year old cold-cocked him with a punch he threw his whole body into. When he went down, the 16 year old is seen in the video spitting on him twice. It was said that you can't charge a 15 year old as an adult, they have to be 16. That's what I read today. |
Because it's more BS, fake news. Never happened. There are NO witnesses coming forward to say he called them names or spit on them. Total BS. |
I’ve noticed the apologists come out every time the offenders are black kids and I understand the natural defensiveness but I wish these people would put their efforts towards addressing the problem of violence and aggressively anti-social behavior amongst black youths.....then this endless stream of stories might actually end. |
I think this is actually just one poster, who is (understandably, in part) agitated by how the white supremacists use any incidents with black kids to claim that black people are inherently violent and bad. |
Can they charge the 16 year old as an adult then? Can there be federal charges brought? Obviously this is not a wrist slap situation. These kids are dangers to the public. |
It's interesting that a couple of posts about how people might not want to alert the officer about this behavior because they might become a viral internet "sensation" were deleted while a thread about the "Becky" meme of white women calling the police on innocent black people is going strong. |
https://www.localdvm.com/news/i-270/emergency-hearing-for-teenage-suspects-in-frederick-fair-death/ So wait. Everything everywhere else says one hit. But yesterday the official statement says 2. Which was it |
The video only shows one hit, the hit to the front that made him fall down and he never got up. So it can be presumed the video just didn't show the first hit to the back of the heat. I saw the video on Reddit via a simple google search. |
It sounds as though the details of what happened are not quite as described by the initial police report. Maybe this attack was more impulsive then it first appeared That doesn't mean that I would feel safe going to a Maryland fair - I would NOT. But at least this wasn't the total set up that it first appeared to be. The girl videotaping it didn't catch the first blow to his head which means she pulled out the camera after the attack started to happen. It's still sickening. The man is still dead and a family has now lost their husband/father. But it doesn't appear that the entire group was "in on it" from the get go. |
| Once in while I'll drive to Frederick and stroll along the lovely Carroll Creek river walk. There's often a group of AA youth hanging along the walk next to the busy tourist drag, about a block away from the police station. There is something obviously wrong with them. Sometimes there are adults with them, or a group of troubled adults will be hanging there. I'll cross one of the bridges, to the other side of the walk, rather than pass them. Often there's a cop not too far away from them. One time one of the teenaged boys called out to me trying to engage with me, and when I looked over he had tampons stuffed into his nose cavities. I don't know Frederick that well, but well enough to know strange public behavior like this is uncommon aside from this group. I would guess maybe the kids at the fair were part of this group of youth? It sounds like them. It is about a mile to the Fairgrounds from this location. |
This is now what is running that town it sounds like. Nothing anyone can do about it. |
Counting down the minutes til this post gets deleted. |
