Agreed. This man could very well have passed. Please respect the injured, dead and their families.

+2

It was on cnn.com

Original PP and that wasn't my motive, I am trying to avoid trauma from the photos and have been actively avoiding them. So it was a personal request to let anyone who wants to see photos seek them out on the news pages.

Stalking has gotten so sophisticated and scary--I don't put it past a nut bag. So many people allow themselves to be tracked like deer with their GPS devices Nike+ etc, it can be posted online in real time, anything is possible.

Nice try. Boston is absolutely a "nerve center" for agitating the Tea Party. All the symbolism PPs mention, plus a long history of racial tension, plus a current reputation as a haven for liberals.

Oh, there are wing nuts in Boston for sure. In the past few years, Tea Bagger types would regularly hold rallies on Boston Common.

Concerning the Saudi national in the hospital that was talked about by the NY Post tabloid - it's been confirmed that the person talked about is a female Saudi doctor, who was hurt in the blast.

She is not believed to be connected, and her questioning is normal for all people.

Seriously, a female Saudi physician doesn't seem like a likely suspect. You you bigots hoping that this line will play according to the hateful script in your head, can close that curtain.

FYI that bit about the female Saudi doctor, was said on CNN, as a reporter was reading an updated live on air. May have not made it to an article yet. Will update with link when found.

because it's the new york post. not exactly a credible source for anything.

The NY Post is not in the business of telling news and the truth, it's in the news of selling stories. It's a tabloid. Gossip about Saudis will sell papers, even if it's not true. According to CNN, the Saudi national is a female Saudi doctor who was injured in the blast. She is not a suspect or believed to be suspicious. Leave it to the investigators, and leave her and her family alone.

Anonymous wrote:One silver lining - if such a blast had to occur, Boston is probably a very good place - so many hospitals and medical specialties to deal with all kinds of situations. There is no shortage of doctors and medical staff.

Wow. I am sure that will be a great comfort to those who lost loved ones. Seriously, PP, think before you post.

Some lives will be lost and it's always a tragedy, but actually the immense strength of the hospitals and medical community in Boston has very likely SAVED many lives. You can bet that precisely because this occurred in Boston, and because there were already medical teams at the marathon, that the fatalities are less than they would have been somewhere else, and that they have the equipment, manpower, and experience to minimized casualties.

Why would it be racist , the 911 hijackers were saudi and women have been proven to be terrorists (see israel)

Because most terrorists are not Saudi, most terrorists are not Muslim, most terrorists are not Middle Eastern. You have one event, and you have decided that a pattern must exist for all future events. The pattern exists in your head, not in reality.

Most terrorists in the US are white American men and always have been.

If you are looking for a precedent for this attack, I don't think 911 is the best fit. The most similar event that I can remember is this one:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Spokane_bombing_attempt

"The Spokane bombing attempt occurred on January 17, 2011, when a radio-controlled, shaped pipe bomb was found and defused in Spokane, Washington along the route of that year's Martin Luther King Jr. memorial march."

There were two injured Saudi nationals - one was the female doctor, the other a 20 year old male. The male is not a suspect, and fully consented to have his apartment searched. He has a clean slate, no prior suspicions, and is cooperating fully.

Has anyone considered that this might be the North Koreans?

Too competent to be North Korean.

This is domestic. It's far Right, militia stuff. OKC happened on April 19, which is Patriots' Day. It's the day that the American Revolution started at Boston Commons. MA celebrates Patriots' Day on the third Monday in April, instead of on the actual date. The Marathon is scheduled to coincide with Patriots' Day. Today is an important date for domestic far Right terrorists.

They also set fire to the JFK presidential library. That's not the act of someone who loves Democrats or liberal policies.

The design of the bomb may also point to a returning military vet. They see a lot of those in Iraq. They have brain injuries and/or PTSD and/or a lot to be pissed off about.

McVeigh was a Gulf War vet, BTW.

In Iran they use 100's of pounds of military grade explosives. The death would have been in the 100s. Those explosions leave craters and structural damage.
