Two huge blasts rock Boston Marathon finish line

Anonymous
Boston PD is apparently now reporting at least two deaths. Good Lord. I'm so sorry for all who were there. WTH is wrong with this world?

I find those three yellow balloons that float off in the footage right after the explosion to be so creepy...

My thoughts and prayers are with those injured and affected.

Huh? I'm from Boston and watching the news now. Only thing that has been CONFIRMED is that 2 bombs went off. Green line was shut down between Park Street (Downtown) and Kenmore (where Fenway Park is). Some colleges are shutting down and telling students to stay on campus. Police are going to be doing a sweep of trashcans and the area to see if there are any more bombs or any clues.

I think anything other than that is just rumors. Please be respectful on this thread. Obviously cell towers are being over run right now and myself and several of my friends are waiting to hear from friends and loved ones who were at the marathon today.

What if you are wrong and it not rumors. There are reports of secondary devices and the police telling everyone to clear the area.

Everything is a rumor until it's confirmed as fact. "Secondary devices" means nothing at this point, when people are just running and leaving their bags (all the marathoners have bags). All those abandoned bags are "suspicious devices" until they're confirmed as not. Stop posting rumors. You are not helping.

Improvised explosive device. Basically, a homebuilt bomb, as opposed to one manufactured for legitimate killing, by legitimate governments and their legitimate militaries. Can't see myself how it makes much difference. Not to the dead, anyway.

ANYWAY!

If you're looking for a way to help instead of yelling at each other on the internet, consider donating blood or taking a first aid class.

Wow. I am sure that will be a great comfort to those who lost loved ones. Seriously, PP, think before you post.

Thank you for your totally non-sarcastic comment. I'm sure your obviously well intended comment will be of great help to what is a deadly situation. You get a gold star today, little one.

I just heard former congresswoman Jane Harmon (D-Cal.) on CNN saying that the good news here is that "at least a bomb didn't go off simultaneously in North Korea." Then she added: "not yet." WTF, is she just completely irresponsible for speculating and mentioning NK or does she know something???

Really guys? Two pages into a post about a tragedy and we're already at off the charts snark level? Please stop. Some of us were simply looking for information because we actually have people in Boston we care about.
