[/quote] Some lives will be lost and it's always a tragedy, but actually the immense strength of the hospitals and medical community in Boston has very likely SAVED many lives. You can bet that precisely because this occurred in Boston, and because there were already medical teams at the marathon, that the fatalities are less than they would have been somewhere else, and that they have the equipment, manpower, and experience to minimized casualties.
