offers are out! |
2013s and 12s got their offers same night or after. Some current players did not- that forced them to start looking elsewhere. Not sure what the second session will useful for. It is all calculated before the futsal tryouts |
To figure out who can replace the players that haven’t accepted offers and must be looking elsewhere. |
Not surprised, but what was the session really for then? Air cover to justify why you extended an offer to certain players so you can say, "yeah, we evaluated her." I'm a huge fan of futsal's impact on player development, but there's no way they decided to offer a spot to anyone they weren't already intending on giving an offer to based on a compressed and crowded futsal practice. |
Is it true that EM invented rolling offers? |
| EM is grasping as straws on the girls side. Things are not going as well as it has for the boys, may be its time to bring someone in with his clout and work rate to run the girls side before its too late. Competition is fierce in NOVA, way too many clubs to be counting on the success of your boys to build out a girls program |
It wasn't a futsal tryout, it was just an indoor session. NVA/Loudoun fields were clear, but outside was 12 degrees and 35 mph winds. I would say yeah just like any club, you kind of know what internal kids you want to offer since you've been watching them all year long. There's no club out there that has an ID session where 18 kids show up that are all better than the kids you already in the team. It's not super weird if the top 1/3 or top 1/2 of the team get an offer either before, during, or immediately after an ID session. |
It was a futsal session. How about the futsal ball? Let’s be honest. It was an excuse to roll out the offers quickly. |
| Union has had indoor sessions 3x week for the last three weeks with periodic try outs joining |
Yes they played "futsal" but they weren't using "futsal" as part of the evaluation process per se. It was an alternative to what was originally planned for that night which was an standard outdoor session. Obviously no one was going to hold a session outside in 12 degrees and 35 mph wind gusts. Most clubs didn't even have their fields cleared. NVA/Loudoun has tons of access to field space and decided to move forward with their initial ID session, sorry your child did not get an offer. If your child wasn't trying out, then what are you so concerned about it for?!? Literally everyone is doing ID sessions right now and extending offers. |
Your club, your way of doing tryouts and Picking your players anyway and we respect the process. But keep doing what you’re doing. The results speak for themselves. You better run more sessions and get as many rostered as you can because by summer, everyone will be gone. You heard it here first. |
My daughter was there at the session, I was VERY thankful it was not outside. We went to ID sessions for 2 additional clubs which were indoors as well in the past 2 weeks. This is my 3rd kid in travel and we've been through this quite a few times. Not sure what you are saying here, are you arguing more weight should be placed on the ID sessions instead of evaluating a full season with the club? |
The best players are more than capable of playing in older age teams. In fact many stand out already on these teams. These players recruitment is pretty secure already so they're looking to develop even more against older, stronger, faster players. Simply playing on grade is irrelevant. |
Who thinks top kids on the top teams are resting on their laurels? How do you think they're at the top? Very naive to think any coach or club is making most players on top teams wait for offers. |
| For HS kids in MD, there has not been a season. There have been zero games. It's a disaster. Coaches have seen nothing unless you are already 1st team and go to showcases. Just sayin'. |
