First, lets acknowledge that it is insane that ECNL and GA ID sessions are already being held or offers locked in when the younger ECNL and GA girls still have at LEAST half a season left to play, and the older girls in MD have not yet even begun to play.
Second, with sessions being pulled down, are girls being offered? Only internal and/or winter season session stop bys? Will this weekends sessions happen (VDA Showcase, FVU younger, Arlington all ages? MD United Showcase is cancelled) SYC and Bethesda have had indoor sessions, are offers out? Alex is doing invite only sessions and practices and seem to be more rolling. |
| SYC has sent out offers |

Too many top teams already know who they will pick ahead of tryouts. General tryouts are just a way to officially send the offers(or remaining offers) to these players or in case these teams miss a special player or two they did not know about.
Long gone the days when general tryouts was a way to get players into a team. Nowadays they more like orchestration. |
Have not... |
What is so hard to understand? Of course girls are being offered MLS Next/GA started earlier, ECNL started Feb 1 People are reporting DD offers, tend to believe it It doesn't mean ALL offers are gone, but top talent is always retained first ID sessions are used to fill holes in rosters |

| If your kid is attending a session cold, like the coach doesn’t know them, I wouldn’t hold your breath. With the age changes it will be hard enough internally to figure things out. |
| With the age group changes and early ID sessions expect record numbers of club hoppers this year for girls. But have no fear! There are enough ECNL/GA teams for every motivated player willing to pay the fees. 10 teams means there will be about 200 spots for girls at every age group. You just need to be realistic in which ones to tryout. Choose wisely. |
| Has Arlington sent out offers for their 2014 girls? |
For key players |
| Syc def out |
| I'm confused about the role of these ECNL ID sessions versus the typical April/May tryouts. Are the offers going out for the 2026-2027 season or are girls jumping clubs for Spring 2026? My daughter is a 2014, to the extent that matters. |
No shame in being part of the ‘rolling offers’ bucket. |
SYC has completed 2 ID sessions and offers rolled out after each session. But yes, some players won't have offers until after the 3rd session (if they are invited). If you are external to SYC and were not invited to the 3rd session or had an offer, unfortunately it might be a 'no' for now. |
Ok good question. If your DD wants to play ECNL or GA next year 'and' they are born between 1 AUG 2013 to 31 JULY 2014, then you should go out for the ECNL or GA ID sessions. Otherwise, you can just wait for the normal Spring tryouts for U12 or the non ECNL/ non GA teams. However, if your DD is amazing and missed the ID sessions, you can still contact the club you are interested in to try for an ECNL or GA slot. This is because the ID sessions are so early, they might have holes to fill from March until July. |
