These offers are only for top team Fall 2026 - Spring 2027.

April/May tryouts in VA are usually U-littles, and for teams below the level of ECNL (RL and 3rd teams etc) Over the past few years the agreed upon ECNL tryout date has been March 1st. GA hasn't had an agreed upon date, but it would usually be before March 1st, to maybe try to lock in girls from chasing the ECNL badge, or try to stop them getting poached off before ECNL did their official tryouts. This year for probably for a whole host of reasons, but most likely due to the age change shuffle ECNL moved their tryouts dates (ID sessions) up to FEB 1st. So if your daughter is rising to U13 (11v11) and is a top team player or hopes to be, those tryout dates would be Feb 1st, if she's a lower team player they would be slightly later like maybe late March, April, or maybe even May (but everything seems to be getting earlier and earlier nowadays). These current tryouts are for the Fall 2026- Spring 2027 season, but there maybe some girls for whatever reason that move clubs immediately. That is probably only likely if they are switching leagues though, GA to ECNL, or ECNL to GA. Going same league to same league during the "season" is a bit trickier, but can be done if all parties agree.

Ok good question. If your DD wants to play ECNL or GA next year 'and' they are born between 1 AUG 2013 to 31 JULY 2014, then you should go out for the ECNL or GA ID sessions.

Otherwise, you can just wait for the normal Spring tryouts for U12 or the non ECNL/ non GA teams.

However, if your DD is amazing and missed the ID sessions, you can still contact the club you are interested in to try for an ECNL or GA slot. This is because the ID sessions are so early, they might have holes to fill from March until July.

Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it!

Think offers for top teams are out for all but FVU.

Our club, not DMV local, had ID sessions for the HS age teams scheduled for this coming weekend, U15 to U19. But, the club run training sessions late in the fall season and in early January in the new ages groups and pretty much has the rosters locked in.

Just received a note though that they are getting pushed to the next week due to crappy weather this weekend and last I checked, the fields were still snow covered.

Younger ages they have ID Sessions scheduled for early March.

Our club requires current players to attend and they are invite only, not open for anyone to showup.

Have not...

SYC has completed 2 ID sessions and offers rolled out after each session. But yes, some players won't have offers until after the 3rd session (if they are invited). If you are external to SYC and were not invited to the 3rd session or had an offer, unfortunately it might be a 'no' for now.

Would you be invited to the 3rd session if you have received an offer? Curious, I heard about the invite only session, but not 'officially', even after my DD was offered a roster spot.

Are you an outside player? Not part of SYC yet? Maybe they only invited kids who they need to take one more look at.

For key players

So there are still plenty of openings for the Arlington 2104 girls top team?

-I think that is accurate. If you have an offer already, you are good to go. Inside the small space, they really need less kids on the field to make a better assessment.

How is Coach AS? Is he good with the U13-14 group? Any insights?

I watched AS coach against NVA at the Bethesda tournament—they were completely outplayed. His whole approach is just kick‑and‑run. I’d stay far away from that style.

Makes sense. Yes, DD is an outside player joining SYC.
