Have not...

SYC has completed 2 ID sessions and offers rolled out after each session. But yes, some players won't have offers until after the 3rd session (if they are invited). If you are external to SYC and were not invited to the 3rd session or had an offer, unfortunately it might be a 'no' for now.

Would you be invited to the 3rd session if you have received an offer? Curious, I heard about the invite only session, but not 'officially', even after my DD was offered a roster spot.

Are you an outside player? Not part of SYC yet? Maybe they only invited kids who they need to take one more look at.

-I think that is accurate. If you have an offer already, you are good to go. Inside the small space, they really need less kids on the field to make a better assessment.

Makes sense. Yes, DD is an outside player joining SYC.

What age group?

U13.
If anyone knows, Are their many Q3/Q4 2013s repeating? How many rising 2014s?

AS will make your kid a tougher player. Instagram ball skills don’t cut it in ECNL. No club will develop your player, you do that on your own time. The club just gives your player a platform to perform. The club you play on doesn’t matter before HS so play wherever is close and move to VDA in HS like everyone else.

Only to the trap players so far. Coaches trying to get them locked in before ids. You must me trolling on the other offers. Only priorities right now are the trap players

Two questions: 1) Why are trap the priority?

And, for the group: Any general idea or anecdotes as to whether previously trapped players are receiving offers to stay at their current level (u[age]) level or being offered to play “up” with their current team?

There are enough ECNL/GA teams for every motivated player willing to pay the fees. 10 teams means there will be about 200 spots for girls at every age group. You just need to be realistic in which ones to tryout. Choose wisely.

More like 230-250 spots. Teams carry 23-25 players sometimes more.

You don’t want to be in a 24/25 player roster. That means crazy politics and minimal playtime. What will you showcase to a coach in 10 minutes if you even dress.

FVU has sent out offers in the older age groups.

Top players have had theirs for a while.

Sometimes it’s hard to know how many will be on the roster when you receive an offer. Clubs don’t know how many will decline/leave so they need to have a cushion, and new paying players show up later which the club is happy to add. The clubs always say the roster will be 18-20 but end up with more and there is nothing you can do at that point.

Most top level clubs carry at least 22-25

DD went to try out for NVA today. Surprisingly, not many people showed up, Has anyone heard anything from the club yet?

AS will make your DD a better player and definitely a tougher player. He seems calmer since BP showed up.

He is VERY well-liked by VDA players, parents, alumni.

He’s not a “kick and run” coach. That’s pretty well documented.

When you do not have 4-5 teams below like Alex or SYC, it will be low turn out because there are not many girls trying to trade up. Also I think older than U13 NVA teams have been very unhappy about the level of competition in GA. Anyone close to recruiting age has been trying other clubs all winter.

You’re talking about NVA like it’s a small club? It’s Loudoun. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the state.

But Loudoun also has their own GA teams. How does one pick?

Since you joined the chat, go ahead and tell us which team you’ve actually produced that plays a good brand of soccer. What a joke.
Once the landscape shifts, all this high‑school recruiting VDA keeps relying on is going to blow up in their face. They don’t develop — they poach.
And now they’re finally getting a taste of their own medicine. NVA is taking their players left and right, including the entire 2012 boys team.
Pretty soon they’ll be begging to join MLS or GA. The landscape is changing fast, bud.
