Why are ivies and other elite NE schools out, southern schools in?

This pretty much distills it. And the fact that all of the top 30 are like 90% international, Indian, Asian, and Jewish students and faculty. If you’re a normal smart devout Christian kid, it’s perfectly natural to lack interest in such an environment.

Yikes. You're not giving off a very Jesus-y vibe.

And no, it's not because I think they have loose morals or whatever - I am genuinely worried about emergencies with their reproductive organs that docs in those states won't touch for fear of lawsuit. My soon to be freshman has already been told she might need a hysterectomy if other things don't work to fix her numerous issues.

So, for those heading off to these states, I hope for the best and that worst case scenario DOESN'T hit you.

Whatever. As if you would let your child get a hysterectomy anywhere else but home. Your point is ridiculous. It is as unlikely to be a factor in Houston TX as it is in the middle of nowhere New Hampshire.

Look, do people not understand emergencies? If my daughter is stuck in effing TX with a diseased uterus and/or ovaries, my concern is they will not actually operate and she will DIE. It isn't that simple to get her back home to Northern VA if her life is on the line.

If we can schedule it, great - yes, I would bring her home. But are people really this dense?

Never mind, don't answer that.

You need therapy. Signed sibling of Texas doctor. Women’s healthcare in state is excellent. Calm down.

DP here. How can you claim this when health indicators, such as the maternal mortality rate, clearly show otherwise? Healthcare for women in Texas is abysmal. Maternal mortality has risen 60% in just a few short years. The reality is women in the state are dying due to lack of access to reproductive healthcare.

Neither. The bottom videos are a nightmare of eating disorders, spray tans, and excessive reliance on men to do everything and drive all the decisions in your life. The top is just annoying.
I guess this is the conservative dream, though, which is pretty sad.

Sorry you wouldn’t get a bid.

I'm sorry that you want that so badly.

Am I the only one that feels embarrassed to be American watching "elite college" videos with Zionists celebrating the slaughter of Palestinians, whining about DEI and Trump, celebrating abortion, and all kinds of other secular crap?

Guess what? Both of these things can be embarrassing.

Who knew there were so many feds in Washington who are apparently experts on every Ivy campus, every SEC campus, and every other ritzy private college in the South. From WashU to Cornell to UGA to Auburn to Wake Forest to Belmont and everywhere in-between.

More like every thread on this sub forum is shut-in weirdos who've spent a considerable amount of time at perhaps two colleges in their entire life (likely 20+ years ago at that) who posture as experts of college culture at dozens of campuses they have literally never stepped foot on and likely don't even know a soul who has.

They became enamored with the lifestyle on the campuses of southern schools by watching social media vids of girls getting ready to go to to tailgates at Alabama or UGA. Other types of of events and parties on the campuses of southern schools also had tons of social media coverage. The students themselves post the videos, so all of the southern schools get tons of free marketing. I heard this was also a big trend with all of the friends of my cousins - they’re applying to southern schools. Is the whole NE school a thing of the past?

It's the weather. They want sun.

Her brother goes to Brown…Affleck’s kid goes to Yale.

Seems like the common theme is they all want top 20.

You think schools with a 3 % acceptance rate are out and schools with a 70 % acceptance rate are in?

I think it’s just the people you know.
Perhaps they are less focused on academics than the kids the rest of us know.

We didn’t let our son apply to schools in red states. When this country falls apart, they go down first.
