The 2025 rushtok’s that have been hitting social media are insane.
I can understand the desire for hypsm, but outside of those schools, why would you not attend one of these rushtok schools? Have fun, be around hot people, get a good gpa, then you can go to a more striver grad school if you wish |
This pretty much distills it. And the fact that all of the top 30 are like 90% international, Indian, Asian, and Jewish students and faculty. If you’re a normal smart devout Christian kid, it’s perfectly natural to lack interest in such an environment. |
Because Ivy level students would rather poke their eye out then be surrounded by that drivel. They are social and fun, but not like that. |
As I said, I get hypsm, but if you aren’t attending hypsm, is it really worth going to Cornell or rice over one of these schools? FWIW I went to jhu. But when I went to school, southern schools weren’t this fire or had as many kids from the north attend In 2025 you can find friends from the north while still vibing in this general atmosphere…do well on your lsat and come back north to a t10 law school I don’t see a value proposition for non-hypsm but still grindy schools for 99.5% of kids in 2025 |
Then why is Alabama so poorly represented at t10 law schools? Also, why does Alabama accept nearly everyone who applies? Why are median outcomes so poor? |
For someone that went to JHU, your opinion confuses me. Would your peers have enjoyed that atmosphere? There are very driven kids at T15 schools beyond HYPSM and they don’t feel it’s a grind as they enjoy it. That tik tok atmosphere would be their hell. |
| Am I the only one that feels embarassed to be American watching those sorority videos? It’s so damn cringey. |
Neither. The bottom videos are a nightmare of eating disorders, spray tans, and excessive reliance on men to do everything and drive all the decisions in your life. The top is just annoying. I guess this is the conservative dream, though, which is pretty sad. |
If you aren't wealthy, white, and have an ounce of ambition, 1000% yes. If you are wealthy, white, and don't fit in with this awful crowd, 1000% yes. |
Cornell, Rice, and JHU are full of introvert grinders. Nothing wrong with those high achievers but I don't think they'd be as happy at most southern schools. |
Most jhu alums aren’t too thrilled with their ug experience tbh - it’s reflected in many jhu alums not recommending the school to our kids and reflected by the poor giving rates. Not saying we would’ve liked attending uga or Alabama, but maybe a pac-12 school that was more social and attractive but perhaps not full SEC. |
| The elite school aren’t a realistic admit for most unhook kids and the southern schools generally have better weather and are more fun. For a kids who gets shut out of schools like tufts and BC they’d rather spend four year at Tulane than Syracuse now a days. For kids who aren’t at the top of the class Alabama or Clemson on tik tok seem way way better than UConn or Umass. |
That I can get behind, but acting like kids that want T20 would rather be in the south is literal insanity. |
So why do UMass and UConn have 25% and 35% more applications than Alabama? It’s not as though CT is a huge state nor is UConn located in some desired area. |
