Two children killed by family pet

Feel free to post attacks by other breeds that involves multiple children being mangled to death.

I know this is somewhat ludicrous but it would be really helpful if there was a registry of pit bulls in neighborhoods. Similar to the sex offender registry. I personally would love to know if a house I was looking at was next to a house with a pit bull because I would avoid avoid avoid. If these animals can kill my child on a whim, I would like to know so I can take the necessary precaution.

Like in your house or a family member that occasionally visits has them?

If first, I would seriously consider giving them up:

If you’re not more than seriously considering you don’t deserve to be a parent

Yeah, please do! Pits are the reigning champs in this realm. Pits+ Rotties are 76% of all fatalities. Pit lovers especially love to call out Chihuahuas as super aggressive (true) but I'm still waiting to see their body count. Also Goldens could equally maul, so surely there should be near daily reports of their attacks and kills?

Okay, so please provide us with some credible sources showing which breeds are actually responsible for most human deaths if not Pitt bulls.

Most dogs can kill. German shepherds, chows, dobermans Huskies even labs. You are fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

I needed reconstructive surgery after being bit in the face by a basset hound as a kid. Still scarred. Young children shouldn’t be left alone with any dog.

I was bit in the face as a child by a German Shepard. It required stitches but I don't have any scarring. I agree that young children should not be left alone with a dog.
But I agree with other posters that pit bulls are especially dangerous and should not be near children under any circumstances.

These pit bull owners with kids are in the same league as parents who have guns in the house when they know their kids have mental health issues. Tragedy waiting to happen, on their watch.

Where are the prosecutors? Who is on the side of innocent children?

+1 but I’d even go a bit farther and say pit bulls are worse in that they are active, living things that have triggers and can act with their own agency. This makes it 10x harder to control the environment and make it truly safe for a child

If the friend sources are true, if she'd simply run and not tried to save her daughter, maybe she could have saved the baby. But of course every instinct will tell you to save your kid.

There are pit mauling stories regularly. And I've had personal experience with pit aggression. Yet pit nutters tell us to ignore stats, the news, our personal experience because some they claim some magic force had it out for pit bulls for a reason they can't articulate.

My Dad's a pediatrician and also has personally told me never to let pits around my kids because of what he saw in his ER rotations. I suppose whatever shadowy conspiracy pit nutters believe in they somehow magically got my Dad too?

Or you know they're just terrible dogs.

You’re a moron.

Dp takes one to know one

Found the pit nutter.
Hope the PP can pop more kids out easily.

Pitbulls are banned in my condo in l Santa Monica, it’s very difficult to rent here if you have a pitbull. These parents were selfish and irresponsible and I hope they live with that guilt for the rest of their lives.

There’s a fairly famous op-ed written by a reconstructive plastic surgeon who says the same thing as your dad: these dogs are a menace and do a ridiculous and unique amount of damage, like the kind of damage a bear might do.
