Pretty sure they're still lying, but it's interesting to see they added that on.

From CNN live updates -

"Russia has proposed a new ceasefire starting 10 a.m. Moscow time, which is 2 a.m. ET Tuesday, which indicates it’s ready to open evacuation corridors from Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Mariupol, Russian media reports quoting the Russian Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine.

Ukraine has yet to formally agree to the ceasefire proposal.

"Russia declares a ceasefire from 10 a.m. (Moscow time) on March 8, and is ready to provide humanitarian corridors: from Kyiv and adjacent settlements to the Russian Federation through the territory of the Republic of Belarus to Gomel," Russian media quotes the statement.

The Russian statement added that evacuation corridors "will also be open from Chernihiv through the territory of Belarus, from the city of Sumy along two routes to Poltava and to the territory of Russia, from Kharkiv to the territory of Russia or to Lviv, Uzhgorod, Ivano-Frankivsk. Also, a humanitarian corridor will be opened from Mariupol along the two routes to the territory of Russia and Zaporizhie.”

Russia said it is offering to agree on the plan for the evacuation corridors with Ukraine by 3 a.m. ET Moscow time on Tuesday, ahead of the ceasefire starting at 10 a.m. ET local time."

Wait - civilian corridors INTO RUSSIA ??? SERIOUSLY ??

That is a giant non-starter.

And as soon as the refugees cross the border they will promptly be loaded into cattle cars to Siberia to be held as leverage hostages . . . .

The Russians were REALLY good at that under Stalin with their neighbors. Especially Ukraine, where the lands and homes of the Siberian-bound were promptly re-populated with Russians.

Isn’t this the second General who was killed?

Do generals often get killed in wars? I would think rank hath some benefit…

I think the generals have had to get closer to the front lines to try to unclown the Russian military clown show.

I’m sure that’s part of it as well.

Probably for Russians who live in that area. Just a guess...

Yes, it normally does. Believe it or not, Generals used to lead from the front and got shot. If the news is true from Ukraine, it's probably because a sniper found a General.

In the American Civil War, General Ulysess Grant wore a private's smock in battle to prevent this.

They were leading from behind, as modern generals do, but Putin had a screaming tantrum when Ukraine wasn't his the first week, and sent his generals to the front to push their 18 year old baby soldiers to murder their cousins.

Just deserts, methinks.

The American Civil War was a REALLY long time ago and warfare has advanced, at least in more developed countries, in a way that generals aren’t on the front lines anymore.

But yes, one of the generals was gesticulating so wildly in response to the incompetence that he was noticed and then picked off by a Ukrainian sniper.

Nope. Even the Russian speaking Ukrainians don't want to evacuate to Russia. The Russian conscripts might want to though.

Thanks for affirming my point, but how do you know the General was "gesticulating..wildly..at incompetence?"

More likely his uniform insignia showed up in someone's rifle scope and the trigger was squeezed. Good-bye, Comrade General.

Various reports have said he went to the head of the convoy and was jumping up and down. I doubt it was for joy.
