Why would that be surprising to you? |
You might benefit from a walk or reading a book that isn’t a thriller. |
We don’t. An officer was put on leave while the incident is investigated. We know that there were two 911 calls — one said that Gabby was hitting him, the other said Brian was the aggressor. We know the officers knew of the first, but we don’t know if they were told of the second. From the video, it appears not. Brian did have marks on his face, which supported the report of the first call. Gabby admitted she hit him. It sounds like probably both were true. It’s possible that the dispatcher made a mistake by not passing in the info from the second call. The video doesn’t show the officers getting another call from the dispatcher. However, officers had already been dispatched, so maybe they decided they didn’t need to pass along the additional info? A mistake in hindsight, but I still don’t think the Police action on the scene was “shoddy” in light of what they knew. Yes, it’s heartbreaking that Gabby was so close to getting help. But, despite the fact that she didn’t ask for help, they separated her from Brian, & gave her possession of her van. She could have simply driven away. |
More training DV is needed, obviously. He might have had the scratches but she clearly was the one that was mentally distraught. That should not have been minimized or ignored in their assessment. But it was. |
A trained cop would have figured out the scratch in his face was from her defending herself. |
Well, he’s a mentally ill, abusive, murderer for starters. |
Was Gabby one too? |
| On Twitter, Lyssa Chapman says Dog is on the hunt. |
This is literally not how Fort Desoto works. It's a county park there is a limit on how long you can stay, and you typically have to book a year in advance. Maybe there's occasional sights pop up, I don't know. But it's not a Jellystone campground! |
Still not getting how politics come in to play. |
Pp again with update: UNCONFIRMED Dog allegedly closing in on location where BL WA spotted and will arrive in 15 minutes, well maybe 10 minutes after I post. Investigators working with Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman are honing in on portions of the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina as they continue their search for Brian Laundrie, who is wanted on bank fraud charges after his fiancée, Gabby Petito, was found dead in Wyoming. As the manhunt for Laundrie forges on, people have claimed to have seen the 23-year-old avid hiker in Watauga County, North Carolina, according to multiple reports. Users in a private Facebook page, Appalachian Classifieds, described how people were "reporting seeing Brian Laundrie in Boone, NC," according to the Watauga Democrat. The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office told local affiliate FOX 46, "We were looking into these claims, but nothing has been verified." Sheriff Len Hagaman told Fox News that the department was "only monitoring social media reposts – nothing validated." |
| That's not really new, Boone, NC sightings were days ago. If he was there, I'm sure he's moved on. |
Also saw on the news a sighting in Mexico. The photo looks like it could be him. |
| I want to see BL caught as much as the next person, but I hope they're not tracking down some poor look-alike who has no connection to BL. It would be sad if someone is enjoying a hike they've dreamed of taking for years, only to get assaulted by media and LE because they think it's BL. So far there have been several false sightings. |

Soooo they found a dead man's body when they were searching for Petito in the same national forest. He'd been missing the exact same time Petito went missing - his family reported his absence to the police 4 days before the girl's body was found.
