They are growing up without any extended family and without growing up with the kids of Harry’s childhood friends. They are being raised completely American. They will never be able to go back and fit in.

That is the reason they might lose their titles. If something were to happen to William and his kids, Harry and his kids would not be popular enough to rule and the British monarchy in all probability would end.

I agree, when the kids become aware of what they’ve lost, it will be devastating. I don’t know how one could ever be at peace with that.
Maybe he leaves her and returns to the U.K. so they can be raised in their heritage, away from her and with limitations for him.

I think “what they’ve lost” is an idealized fantasy of what the kids will think they’ve lost. The reality would be very different for them.

She also rehashes platitudes that are not relevant to or accessible to many ordinary people. However, she seems to ingratiate herself easily to other high status, rich people like Oprah Winfrey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Prince Harry, Justin Trudeu's circle of friends etc.

It is because...they relate to her and they understand her. She is not being fake...when you are so rich and privileged and sheltered...you really do spiral over not being asked if you are ok and do tend to think flower sprinkles bring joy. She is so effervescent because she is beautiful, in a happy marriage with a Prince, lives on a gorgeous estate and is rich! That isn't performative!

She has lived in the 1% since her Suits days and is now part of the world elite. Of course she is out of touch and unrelatable!

I don't think this is correct. If this was the reason all rich and beautiful celebrities would be hated. The reason people don't like her is because she reached the status of a working member of the royal family, and all she did was complain. Then she left the royal family and claimed to want privacy but has continued to claim royal ties and try to make American status of being a Duchess when we don't have royal titles iinfluences.

The problem with that is that no one cares about members of the royal family who are not actually in the institution. The magic is in how the work together and present themselves to the public on special occasions. They do not shill on Instagram and do interviews with influencers. That is low level social media influencer behavior unworthy of the royal family.

Well how come the other rich and famous people seem to like her and want to be her friend? If she was truly so terrible surely there would be others of her same class who would shun her.

Vanity Fair published a report about bullying allegations against her in the states. But even bullies with accusations against them in two different countries like her can have friends, so I don’t get your point.

Goop and Mindy Kaling did mutually beneficial PR with her, who else?

Buckingham palace issued a statement in response to the court ruling. It seems they are being assertive. Probably William’s doing.

Like who? She can't seem to hold on to any friends, or even family members for that matter. Not uncommon with people that have NPD.

I looked up the statement, it's very detached, brief and factual: 'All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.'

The Meghan and Harry loving dummies can continue being stupid, but William seems capable of letting actual professionals do professional messaging. He’s a grown up on some level. His brother and Meghan aren’t and they never will be. They’re going to play act at life and parenting forever - Harry will piss and moan over estrangement, Meghan will pretend she’s personally boxing her gross sht in an octagonal jar, they’ll both delude themselves that they are rational and highly present parents.

Poor kids.

I find it odd when I see headlines that separately refer to Duchess Meghan and Kate Middleton. Shouldn’t it be Meghan Markle Sussex and Princess Katherine?

Idk, I think their life in CA actually sounds pretty amazing and dreamy. I'm sure the kids are just fine, as are all the kids who just live far from extended family because their parents moved abroad. It's not traumatic, just a little bit sad to not forge deeper bonds with cousins. What I don't get why they are going on and on about the UK stuff and bashing royals. It's ok to be estranged if they want that. What's not ok is to claim you don't want to be estranged while also repeatedly antagonizing family in the press. It just makes no sense. The security business also makes no sense because a discreet visit can be done, via private plane and with bodyguards as long as they are not armed. People like David Beckham, Elton John and other mega celebrities manage just fine.

I just watched the whole thing. It’s so much worse than I could have imagined. His family breached its duty of care? It is a true woe is me interview. And how could they do this to him when he gave 35 years and counting of public service to the UK.

Their royal connection is the only thing that makes them interesting. The fact that Americans don't have a royal family or titles makes foreign royals exotic in the US.

Kate/Catherine doesn’t make a fuss, whereas sometime in the past year or two, Meghan threatened legal action if stage name (Meghan Markle) or real name (Rachel) used by journalists. She must be referred to as Duchess.
Sigh

Anonymous wrote:The whole HRH and duchess thing really is over the top and inappropriate. I noticed that now if I try to search for Meghan markle in news, it autocorrects it to duchess Meghan, even if I put her actual name in quotes. She must have pushed hard legally to get that to happen.
She left that life then threw mud at it. She has absolutely no claim to duchess, Sussex, or hrh. And the kids shouldn’t be using the titles if they aren’t going to step foot in UK.

Not legally.

Meghan Markle’s entire life seems to be governed by SEO, not by being a jam-maker or a podcaster or a philanthropist. There’s a reason there’s always ‘news’ about her in places like People.

The idea that her dim husband had to ‘slay dragons’ for her is hilarious, given how much she and the dope cling to titles in a country where the Constitution forbids recognition of same, and who despite all of his whining and how little he’s done in his life with all of that money and opportunity and fleeing to ‘freedom,’ it is very evident that they named their kids in a sketch way and pouted about titles because those silly things mean everything to them.

I’m surprised at how important the titles are to them, and that she would privately use the HRH title with her friends. But then again they are not the most self aware people to realize how ridiculous holding on to British royal titles sounds when you live in the US. It’s very important for her that everyone thinks she’s happy, and she very well may be as she pursues her “creativity.” But there is no way Harry, who spends his time fighting for security to spend extended periods of time in the U.K., is happy in Montecito.

There was a paparazzi video at a movie premiere where Meghan and Harry are saying goodbye to their friends and one curtesys to Harry, he bows to say thank you and they both laugh. I get the feeling that their friends tease them about it, and this was her playing along. But I’m of the opinion that MM isn’t an evil psychopath.

Their friends might tease them about it, but it is clearly very serious to Meghan as a status indicator. Her most important accomplishment is to be "Duchess of Sussex" (in Montecito which makes no sense). She knows she will be completely shut our once William is king so she's trying to make the most of being Duchess of Montecito while she can.

Huh? The titles were given by the Queen of England. She didn’t take them away, and she could have. And the King can, anytime.

That’s an accomplishment! Have you any titles given by a monarch?

I’m not her biggest fan. I think they should have stayed. But I see now it was good they went away to get a lot of space. He’s 5th in line at this point, just let him and his family figure out what they want. If you’ve watched any of The Crown, you’ll see parts of why it’s hard to be second, why it’s hard to be in the next 10 after the monarch. The test of loyalty is greatest at the top.

Yes, and William will probably strip the titles when he is king. So she has to make the most of the title while she can. That's my point.

I honestly doubt William will do anything about it. Stripping the titles would bring so much attention to them. It would be a win for the royal superfans but to most of the world, it would just seem petty. Harry will always be connected to them as the King’s son and future king’s only sibling. No letters patent could change that.

Any positive story about Harry (like Invictus Games) would then have a negative spin for the BRF as it’ll say “formerly known as” and go into how/why. William seems to just ignore Harry’s existence and that’s probably the best strategy. Harry’s biggest sin here is whining about being treated poorly as spare. If Andrew hasn’t crossed the line to have his titles stripped, Harry sure hasn’t.

+1 It's best for the BRF to ignore H&M and concentrate on the members who live in the UK. H&M can dig up the past repeatedly and the public will tire of it.
