| VT commit played and took the draws. SJC has some young talented players who seem to rotate bt midfield and attack |
| She played and won about 75% of the draws she took but she was playing attack. SJC played well and the BI offense had a bunch of turnovers and poor shots and couldn’t take advantage of all the possessions. BIs defense and goalie played well and were definitely the reason they won since the offense kept putting the pressure on them with all the turnovers. If they play like they did today against Flint Hill it will be one and some in the state tourney. |
| What is one and some? |
| One and done |
Difficult to draw any conclusions this spring. BI took Visi - ranked #1 Nationally - to OT a week ago. And the same BI team barely beat a SJC team that’s been a perennial bottom dweller in the WCAC for years. What does it mean? Who knows. This year is an outlier - Covid has wreaked havoc on every program and impacts players and coaches in a way that make predictions, or conclusions, pretty meaningless |
Definitely a lot of strange scores this spring at elite levels of both girls and boys HS lax. BI girls team was praised as being “elite” after playing Visi closer than SSSA and now what? Also very strange scores on boys side. Especially true in IAC where boys teams have played the same team twice in a week. A very strange season |
|
there's room for more than one "elite" team in the DMV, troll. GC, SR, VISI, BI, SSAS can all be called elite. I'll be shocked if any of them finish the season without a loss. All great teams with great coaches and they all battle each other. Fun to watch. Sport is growing and teams are competing. Take any of them outside the DMV to any place outside the Mid Atlantic, ex LI and maybe CT, and they would be even more "elite".
It is amazing to see outclassed other "state champions" are when they play these teams most years. We are in a great area for girls lacrosse |
| Did PVI play Bishop Ireton this week? |
No, PVI lost badly in the playoffs, so missed their chance to play BI. |
| So how did Stone Ridge do in their game against Visi this week? Dying to hear what happened. |
| Stoneridge by 4 over Visi. Visi, just like SSAS, overrated. The "rankings" this year really are a joke. |
| BI lost to Collegiate in OT. From what I hear Collegiate dominated on the draw and had some more dynamic offensive players. Seems like BI may have some younger talent but this is the first year in a while that they don’t have any legit UA AAs in the senior class. |

Collegiate has a really good team— hard to know what to expect when they are so far out of the lacrosse realm down in Richmond. But kudos to them.
The quarterfinals v. PVI should have been closer but the PVI team was probably tired from playing GV the night before. Collegiate was the better team in the final. |
Good for Stone Ridge. They have a great team. I’d love to know how coaches behaved considering the crazy behavior from both 2 years ago. |
Lemme guess, had PVI stayed at a Holiday Inn Express they would have beaten GV. Some teams claim they will make a big splash, but produce only ripples. Some teams just get it done. Our Collegiate girls did not play their strongest game against PVI, but we don't come on a forum to make excuses for why the score could have been even worse. While you make excuses for why the score wasn't close we will go play some more lacrosse. |
